My CALDWELLS got lost from my Father's side of the family for over 70 to 100 more years. He grew up (My Father) in Huntington, WVA, was not raised by his Father, and his Father did not stay with his family. Therefore, the rest of my Father's Father's people did not know him or his Sister, and the Grandfather stayed removed most of his life from his own CALDWELLS, perhaps having several other families.

My most exciting news is finding my 2nd CALDWELL cuz who was living in Harpers Ferry, WVA, and through another CALDWELL researcher, put us together. Now I have gone on to find other WESTS (my GreatGrandmother) was a WEST - by this
time the family was living in Effingham, Illinois, and now I have pictures of these people I never knew. My most recent discovery is that I have learned I have a WEST cuzzie living right under my nose here in El Paso (TX) - she and I are both lefthanded, so am suspecting I take after this side of the family in some of the physical traits.

Through another cuzzie, WEST, he goes thru another Brother to my Great Grandmother, and he gave me a picture of him, only to see a reincarnation of him in my Grandfather, CHARLES W. CALDWELL. I am hot on the trail trying to find the other his "missing" families" and find more of this missing family. My CALDWELLS were out of Washington, Lee, and Russell Counties - also have the DICKERSON-ELLINGTON lines - POWELL as well in these counties - DICKERSONS also earlier
in Caroline and Louisa Counties in VA. I am working on proving the connection to the Cub Creek CALDWELLS thru REV. JAMES CALDWELL who was born in 1734 to JOHN & MARGARET PHILLIPS CALDWELL, the youngest of their children, who died in Elizabeth, New Jersey, killed by the British in 1781. He is buried in Caldwell, New Jersey, named after him.
