Pinellas County is situated on a peninsula that forms the western shore of Tampa Bay and is bordered to the north by Pasco County, to the east by Hillsborough County and to the south by Tampa Bay.

Pinellas County was formed in 1912. The county seat of Pinellas is Clearwater. Pinellas is one of Florida's youngest counties and when exploring your family history, you will want to research Hillsborough County as well.
