Hon. C. H. M. Petersen, of New Holstein, was a caller at The Times office on Thursday and informed the editor that he and his wife moved this week to their new home at Plymouth and wished through this journal, to bid farewell to their many friends in New Holstein and Calumet County, and that they will long remember the many pleasant hours spent with them. Mr. Petersen and wife came to "Little Calumet" in 1861 and at once won the respect and good will of all with whom they associated. The town of New Holstein has several times elected Mr. Petersen as its chairman and he has well and ably represented it in town matters and on the county board. In 1867 he was nominated by the democrats for member of the assembly and was elected. He served the county in that capacity during 1868 and was re-elected. In 1872 and 1881 he was again elected to the assemble and made an excellent representative. He is an upright and honorable gentleman and his departure from our county is regretted by his host of friends. The Times in behalf of his friends, wishes him the best of success in his new home.
