Among the marriageable young men in Lyndon there has been a good deal of
guessing within the past week or two. There is quite a talk that Willie
Ford the well known and much esteemed school teacher, Justice of the Peace
and farmer will soon take to himself a wife in the worthy person of Miss
Hattie Jewett of Winooski. There is every sign to an observing reporter
that the marriage is not further off than this evening (Thursday) although
direct authority on the subject has not been approached for information as
to exact date. The report is that the wedding will take place this
afternoon at about four o'clock and immediately after the quiet ceremony by
Rev. J.H. Richards at his house the couple will go to their home which has
undergone many improvements of late and is now nicely furnished. Mr. Ford
is one of Lyndon's reliable and thrifty business men who has waited quite a
while before taking the important step but his choice of a wife has been
such that no one will disagree with the Herald when it says he has not
waited in vain.
