Miss Fenner Of Falls Weds G. (sic, H) Van Engen
St. Lucas church, town of Sheboygan Falls, was the scene of an attractive wedding, when Miss Selma Fenner, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. August Fenner, Sheboygan Falls on route 1, became the bride of Hubert Van Engen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Van
Engen, Sheboygan Falls. The marriage service was read by the Rev. Otto Gamb at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 25. Lohengrin
and Mendelssohn's wedding marches were played by Mrs. Carl Mandel. Carl Mandel sang "the Twenty-third Psalm" during the
service.
The bride wore a gown of white satin adorned with white trimmings. Her bouquet was composed of roses, lilies and
babybreath.
The bridesmaids were the Misses Anita Hamann and Ella Kuhlow. Miss Hamann wore a dress of peach shade georgette and Miss
Kuhlow's gown was of orchid shade georgette. Their flowers were roses, sweetpeas and swansonia.
Reinhold Fenner [bride's brother] and Henry Van Engen were the best men. Clara Harder, the little flower girl, wore a
pretty frock.
A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents and cut flowers were used in carrying out the decorations. The
out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. William Radtke, Mr. and Mrs. William Radtke Jr. and daughter, Mrs. Augusta Luedke
[bride's aunt] and Miss Helen Radtke, all of Milwaukee.
Mr. and Mrs. Van Engen left on a motor trip, keeping the destination of their journey a secret. After September 15 they
will be at home at 1123 Lincoln avenue, in this city.
