Miss Shirley Wagner Is Wed To Wesley Williams Saturday
Miss Shirley Grace Wagner was the bride and Wesley W. Williams, the
bridegroom, Saturday afternoon, when they were wed in Immanuel Lutheran
church. The Rev. E. T. Schmidtke performed the 2 o'clock ceremony in which
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Wagner, 2407 Georgia avenue, and the son
of Mr. and Mrs. James Dekker, 1726 N. Fourth street, were united in marriage.
Attendants of the bride were Miss Crystal Kelling, as maid of honor; Miss
Joyce Wagner, the bride's aunt, Mrs. John Brill, sister of the bridegroom,
and Miss Marian Opgenorth, as bridesmaids. Susan Spude and Drew Kaker,
cousins of the bride, acted as flower girl and ringbearer, respectively. Mr.
Wagner presented his daughter in marriage.
Duties of the best man were assumed by Walter Spude, the bride's cousin, and
there were three groomsmen, Harvey Williams and John Brill, a brother and a
brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Howard Valier. Usher roles were taken
by Arno Drews, the bride's cousin, and Chester Williams, uncle of the
bridegroom.
Supper was served at Powers Club Heidelberg restaurant. Among the guests at
the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. John Drews and Gail, Mrs. Byron Weber, Willard
Goetsch, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Spude and Jackie, Sturgeon Bay; Mr.
and Mrs. R. Moldenhauer, Roger, Sharon, Bonnie and Ray, Jr., Randolph, Wis.
When Mr. Williams and his bride return from a secret wedding trip they will
reside with her parents. She is a graduate of Central High school and works
at the Kohler company. Mr. Williams has his diploma from North High school.
He is employed by the S. S. Kresge store.
