NEESE - ZASTROW

A pretty wedding was solemnized Saturday evening at 7 o'clock in St. John's Evangelical church when Miss Elsie Neese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neese, 1517 Mehrtens avenue and Arthur Zastrow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Zastrow, 1116 Broadway avenue, were united in marriage.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. R. Krueger and immediately at the appointed hour when the first strains of the bridal chorus from "Lohengrin" were played by Mrs. Clarence Kasson, the bridal party entered the church and took their places before the altar.

The procession was led by the maid of honor Miss Dorothy Bahr, and the best man, Arthur Ott, followed by Miss Lauretta Neese, sister of the bride and Otto Zastrow, the other attending couple. Little Misses Irma Zastrow, a niece of the groom and Caroline Marquardt were the flower girls who led the way for the bride and groom.

Just preceding the service Mrs. Arthur Zerler sang "Oh Promise Me" and softly during the ceremony Mrs. Kasson played "Traumerei." Concluding the service the choir sang "The Lord Is My Shepherd" and as the bridal party left the church Mrs. E. R. Krueger sang "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms."

The bride wore a gown of white satin and a tulle veil entrain and arranged in crown effect. She carried a handsome shower bouquet of roses, swansonia and lilies-of-the-valley.

The maid of honor wore an orchid crepe de chine dress and the bridesmaid a pink crepe de chine dress. Both carried arm bouquets of lavender lilacs and snapdragons.

The little flower girls wore frocks of golden yellow organdie and carried baskets of sweetpeas.

After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents to the immediate relatives of the couple and a few friends.

Decorations were carried out in azure blue and pink and were very attractive. Mr. and Mrs. Zastrow have gone to housekeeping at 1512 North Fifth street where they have a home already arranged and where they are now at home to their many friends.
