Miss Marie Gartman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gartman, 1015 Logan avenue and
Clarence Bennink, son of Wm. E. Bennink, 517 South Thirteenth street, were
united in marriage Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the parsonage of the
Lutheran church, the Rev. Krueger, pastor of the church, reading the service.
The couple was attended by Miss Mamie Gartman, a cousin of the bride and
Robert Martens.
The bride wore a gown of white crepe de chien and a tulle veil and carried a
shower bouquet of roses. Miss Mamie Gartman, the bridesmaid was attired in
an all white dress and carried an arm bouquet of white carnations.
Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride's
parents and a reception was held for the immediate relatives of the couple.
The house was attractively decorated for the occasion in flowers.
The bride, who is a popular young lady, was employed at the Hand Knit Hosiery
plant and the groom holds a responsible position as shipping clerk at the
Hand Knit Hosiery company. He is also a member of the Hilleman-?sch basket
ball team and both bride and groom are popular among a large circle of
friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Bennink will be at home to their many friends at Fourteenth
street and Center avenue after May 1.
