(First line missing) of a pleasant wedding on Tuesday, June 17. The
contracting parties in the affair being Henry, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Skelton and Annie, youngest daughter of T. McGrain, both of the town
of Mitchell. Promptly at 9 o'clock a.m. the organist, Miss Mamie Phalen,
struck the open chords of the wedding march and the bridal party marched
down the aisle to the alter (sic) where they were met by Rev. B.J. Burke who
performed the marriage ceremony in presence of a large concourse of
relatives and friends. The bride was attended by Miss Katie Coon and Nellie
Skelton while John McGrain and Charley Skelton acted as best man. The bride
was attired in a beautiful costume of white satin and exquisite bouquet of
pink and white carnations tied with white satin ribbon. The Misses Coon and
Skelton wore elegant robes of blue and green albetross and also carried
carnations. The ceremony was followed by a reception at the home of the
bride's father and about sixty guests sat down to a fine wedding dinner. In
the evening the guests increased to about 200 and spent a most enjoyable
time in dancing to the music of the sweet violin till an early hour in the
morning. The presents were costly and numerous. Both Mr. and Mrs. Skelton
have (a) host of friends who wish them unalloyed happiness in their new
relation and prosperity through life.
