Louise Lamb celebrates her 100th birthday

Louise Lamb, a resident at Heritage Nursing Center in Sheboygan, celebrated her 100th birthday Nov. 19 at the Knights of Columbus Center.

Relatives and friends attended an open house in the afternoon. Dinner was served to 55 family members in the evening.

The celebrant was born Nov. 19, 1894 in a log house in Calumet County, to Matthew and Elizabeth Pauly Bell.

Mrs. Lamb attended Plymouth Business College and worked as a bookkeeper in New Holstein.

She and Patrick H. Lamb were married Nov. 22, 1916 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. They farmed in Sheboygan. County prior to operating a grocery store at Superior Avenue and North 20th Street in Sheboygan. The couple lived 15 years in Texas after they retired.

The celebrant's son and daughters were hosts at the birthday observance. They are Mrs. Marie Fetterer and Mrs. Patricia (Joseph) Lang of Sheboygan; Mrs. Marjorie (Arno) Yurk of Portage, MI; and Orton J. (Atemsa) Lamb of Baytown, Texas. Two children, Mrs. Beatrice (Victor) Herber and Giles Lamb are deceased.

The family also includes 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Lamb has resided at Heritage Nursing Center since January 1986. She is a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Sheboygan.
