Edward Kattes Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary
The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Katte, 1920 S. 14th St., was celebrated Saturday with a reception
for 250 relatives and friends at VFW Home.
Gifts to the couple included a decorated cake, money, plants and a centerpiece of yellow roses and acacia with a goldfinch
bird perched at the top of a miniature golden wreath, holding a $50 bill. Music for the evening was furnished by Rhythm
Boys.
Nee Anna Drexler, Mrs. Katte was born Aug. 23, 1886, in Town Wilson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Drexler. Birth of
her husband, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Katte, occurred Feb. 21, 1886, in The Netherlands.
Marriage vows were exchanged Jan. 26, 1907, in the rectory of Holy Name Church with the Rev. Dominic Thill as officiant.
Con Katte is the only living attendant.
For many years, Mr. Katte was a motorman for Wisconsin Power and Light Co. He worked for Vander Vaart Brick Building and
Supply Co. for 20 years. Since a serious accident 12 years ago, he is partially handicapped, but enjoys baseball. His
wife's interests are gardening and crocheting. Both have good health and belong to St. Peter Claver Catholic Church.
Family of the celebrants includes five daughters and two sons, Mrs. Carl (Leonore) Siegl, Sheboygan; Mrs. Joseph
(Margaret) Booton, Milwaukee; Mrs. Lawrence (Dorothy) Richter, Sheboygan; Mrs. William (LaVerne) Wilson, North Plainfield,
N.J.; Mrs. John (Luetta) O'Connor, Washington D.C.; Edgar and Jerome Katte, Sheboygan. There are also 15 grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
Among the out-of-town guests for the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hutchison, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Booton, Milwaukee;
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Drexler, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hecker, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Booton and Robert, Miss Dorothy Kubin,
Fredonia; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Hutchison, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hutchison, Mr. and Mrs. Giliam Hutchison, Mr. and Mrs.
Cornelius Hutchison, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hutchison, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Hutchison, Manitowoc, and others from
Plymouth, Sheboygan Falls and Kohler.
