William August Zimmermann born in Germany around 1800, married Wilhelmina Wittkopf April 1, 1844. William August died in Germany. Wilhelmina was born 01 March 1824 in Germany, died Oconto 28 Sept 1901 in Oconto, Wisconsin .(birth date is from death certificate) Wilhelmina is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Oconto, WI
The name was spelled with two N's in Germany and Wilhelmina's gravestone has two N's on it.
1900 census. She was living with daughter Albertina Zimmerman Kuehl and family.
Wilhelmina came to America in 1889 by herself. Germany to Antwerp,
Belgium to New York City arriving NYC 22 April 1889 on Ship-Noordland.

OBITUARY
OCONTO COUNTY REPORTER
OCT. 4, 1901
Mrs. William Zimmerman, died at the home of her son-in-law, Julius Kiebl (this should read Kuehl) in the North ward Saturday at the age of 77 years. She is survived by two sons and three daughters, all of whom are married. The funeral took place from the German Lutheran Church (this was then called The Evangelical Lutheran Immanuels Congregation) Monday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Eisenbach officiating.
(note: This is the Lutheran Church that the whole Zimmerman family belonged too, and the name was changed April 7, 1935 to First American Lutheran Church.)

BIO: August Sr. living in 1880 in Winnebago County with wife Austena ( I believe this Ernestina misspelled or misheard by the census enumerator) and children Gustav and August Jr. born in Prussia and Elizabeth, Mary and William all born in Wisconsin.
1900 census August Sr. indicates they immigrated in 1873 to America.
Petitioned for citzenship and naturalized; settled in Neenah and
moved to Oconto County 1888; farmer in Little River.
National Archives microfilm (M237Roll375) August Sr. age 27,
Ernestine 30, August Jr. 1 and Gustav 2. They came on Ship City
of Limerick arriving in NYC on May 27, 1873. They sailed from Germany to
Liverpool and then on to NYC.

Heart Trouble Fatal to August Zimmerman Sunday
August Zimmerman, seventy-nine years of age, died at the home of
his son, William A. Zimmerman, town of Little River, Sunday from heart
trouble.
Deceased was born October 31, 1845 in Germany and came to America
with his wife and two children in 1876. He settled in Neenah, and twelve
years later moved to Oconto, where he has made his home since.
He is survived by three sons, William, August Jr. and Gustav Zimmerman,
all of Oconto; and two daughters, Mrs. Jos. Scheffen of Little River, Mr.
and Mrs. John Marek of the town of Oconto. He is also survived by thirty-two
grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at two O'clock from the German
Lutheran church in this city Rev. Eisenbach officiating. Burial was in
the Evergreen cemetery. The pallbearers were six grandsons of the deceased,
Harry, Walter, Arthur and Wilbur Zimmerman, Lawrence Scheffen and Clarence
Marek.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Charles Broeker
and Herman Werth of Lena and Mr. and Mrs. James Fye of Oconto Falls.

MRS. AUGUST ZIMMERMAN AGED RESIDENT TOWN LITTLE RIVER
Mrs. Ernestina Zimmerman, wife of August Zimmerman, and old and respected
resident of the town of Little River passed away at her home at 3:30 yesterday
afternoon aged 71 years,
seven months and five days, after an illness of only a few days
with paralysis of the heart. She was born in Germany April 27, 1843
and came to this country a number of years ago,
settling on a farm in Little River. She is survived by her husband,
three sons, August and Gustav who reside in the South Ward and William
at home and two daughters, Mrs. Joseph
Scheffen and Mrs. John Marek of the town of Oconto. The funeral
will be held from the German Lutheran church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon,
Rev. Eisenbach officiating, with
interment in Evergreen cemetery.

Meyer had three sons Charles Jr., Ernest, and William (the children are
young on family picture and mother is
deceased when picture was taken) death was for sure before 1873.

Oconto County Reporter March 10, 1932 Thursday Obituary
Mrs. Julius Kuehl is to be buried here on Saturday.
Mrs. Julius Kuehl, 75, succumbed Wednesday morning at 2 o'clock at
her home, 1317 Superior Ave. Mrs. Kuehl had been dangerously ill but a
few weeks although she had been in poor health the past year. Complications
were given as the cause of death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock
from the Kuehl home and at 2:30 o'clock from Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran
church with the Rev. H. Eisenbach officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen
cemetery. Six nephews of the deceased will act as pallbearers.
Albertine Zimmerman was born Sept. 5, 1857 in Germany. She came
to this country in the year 1881, living one year in Menasha. She then
came to Oconto, where she married Julius Kuehl in 1884, living here ever
since. Mrs. Kuehl is survived by her husband; six daughters, Mrs. Ernest
Blank, Oconto; Mrs. F.C. Witt; Mrs. H.J. Krug and Edith Kuehl, all of Green
Bay; Miss Harriet of Milwaukee; and Miss Nora at home; one sister, Mrs.
Gust Retzlaff, and one brother William Zimmerman both of Oconto.
Seven grandchildren also survive.
