This page is based on census findings from state and federal remuneration beginning in 1850. Census records are government surveys and not legal documents. Although accuracy is stressed, it is not mandatory. The Peter Vullings family lived in the East Ward of city of Oconto on Oconto Street in 1900. Peter had come to North America in 1893 at the age of 26 years being born in Holland May 22, 1869. Both his parents were born in Germany. Peter was a tailor. He was age 32 years in 1900 and had been married to wife Philomene (sic) for two years. She had been born in Wisconsin of parents whose births were in Holland. Philomene was age 28 as of October 29, 1899. There was one birth in the family, son Leo Henry, born in Wisconsin on July 3, 1899.

The Peter Vullings of Oconto County is now age 41 and married 11 years to Minnie age 38 and listed as a Merchant Tailor. Minnie has given birth to 4 children with 4 living. Their home is on Congress Street and children are sons Leo age 10 (Leo H. Vullings 03 Jul 1899), Williard (sic) age 8 (Willard C. Vullings 31 Aug 1901), Joseph age 6 (Joseph P Vullings 13 Apr 1904) and daughter Clara age 1 year.
Another Peter Vullings lives on Wallen Street in city of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is 43 years of age. His birth is listed as Hol. Dutch, as are both his parents and he has been Naturalized. His wife is Mary (former married name Van Roy) age 50 and born in Bel. French as were both her parents. No year of immigration is given for her. Mary has given birth to 8 children, with 7 living in 1910. In the household is one step-son (of Peter), Arthur Van Roy age 20 years and born in Wisconsin, who works for the railroad. Arthur's father had been born in Wisconsin. Also in the household are Peter's son Theodore age 9 and daughter Helen age 7, both reported to have been born in Michigan.

Peter continues as a Tailor and his wife Minnie had added another son to the family, Henry age 8 (15 October 1911). All 5 children are living in residence with oldest Leo working as a Stenographer. Peter was Naturalized as a U. S. citizen in 1906.

Peter Vullings, age 61, of Oconto County now lives on Adams Street in city of Oconto. Peter continues to own his Tailor Shop. He was age 30 when married according to the Federal census, wife Minnie, now age 58, was age 27 at marriage. The youngest two children remain in residence, daughter Clara age 20 and son Henry F. age 18.
