Schultz Homestead
Carl Schultz built the barn in 1885 and the house was built in 1898. The family lived in the barn for 3 years before the house was completed. The farm was wilderness when Carl and Wilhelmina and family of three girls (Louise died in 1899), Emma and Martha homesteaded. Apparently Amelia who would have been 22 years old was no longer at home. Emma was 12 and Martha 9.

Edwin and Emma Race bought the farm in 1907.

Frank and Harriet Race took over the homestead in 1946. at this time there were 47 acres of farm land and 20 acres of timber. There is also a nice sugar bush which has provided Maple Syrup all through the years, A herd of 15 high grade Brown Swiss milk cows was started in 1923.
