January 17, 1929

Howard Blaser, local light heavy weight wrestler, will meet Emil Barbola of Wauwautosa at the armory in this city on Friday, Jan. 25.  These two men have met before and Blaser considers him the toughest man for his weight in the wrestling profession today.
 

Geneva De Cloux, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon De Cloux, Pine Ave., and Walter Siebert, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Siebert, Lafayette Ave., were quietly married at eh St. Peter’s parish by Rev. Fr. J.J. Looze, Saturday morning at eight.

At the residence of P.A. Badour, Publisher, of The Enterprise, Wednesday afternoon, his accomplished and popular daughter Miss Flossie Olive Badour was wedded to Mr. Carl Frederick Scheel of Phillips, Wis., by Rev Father Campbell of St. Mark’s Church.

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Couillardville
Presbyterian church at three Tuesday afternoon when Miss Ida Pearl
Leigh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leigh of Leightown became the
wife of William Chesley of Lena, Rev. R.J. McLandress of this city
officiated.

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Cecil on Washburn Ave. Wednesday at high noon when their daughter, Miss Frances E. Cecil became the bride of Edward John Wedge of Iron Mountain, Michigan, Rev. R.J. McLandress performing the ceremony.

One of the prettiest weddings ever held in Oconto took place at St. Joseph’s church Wednesday morning at nine when Miss Loretta Merline, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Merline of this city, became the bride of Mr. Lee Joseph Deterville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emile Deterville, also of this city.  A solemn high mass was said by Rev. Fr. Selbach assisted by Rev. Fr. Multher Magire.

Miss Mae Ahlborg and Joseph Sucharda were married Wednesday afternoon at three at St. Paul's Evangelical church.

Miss Mildred Agnes Murphy, daughter of Mrs. Anna Murphy, and Charles Heller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heller, Sr., of Erie avenue were united in marriage at eight Tuesday morning, Rev. Fr. Selbach officiating.
 

Lena—At seven thirty Tuesday morning August 18, Miss Ella D. Valley of Lena became the happy bride of Frederick H. Vollmer of Oconto Falls.  The ceremony was performed at St. Charles church at Lena, Rev. Fr. Van Somple officiating.

Henry Delcore of Pensaukee and Miss Julia DeBaere, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles DeBaere of Little River were married Tuesday morning at St. Joseph’s church, Rev. Fr. Selback officiating.  The bride was attended by Miss Alice Loberger and Miss Mary Gauthier and the groom was attended by Messrs. Charles and Eddie DeBaere.

A very pretty wedding was solemnized Tuesday at St. Peters church when Miss Gertrude Barribeau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Barribeau of this city became the bride of Fred Pecor of this city.
