Married Monday
Miss Margaret Hynes and Mr. Albert Noack of Little river

Miss Margaret Veronica Hynes, of this city and Mr. Albert Noack, of Little River, were married at St. Joseph’s parsonage at 7 o’clock Monday morning. Rev. Fr. Selbach officiating. They were attended by the bride’s half sister, Miss Elizabeth Burke, and half brother, Mr. Joseph Burke, as bridesmaid and groomsman respectively.
Following the marriage ceremony a delicious wedding breakfast was enjoyed by the bridal party and a few immediate relatives, after which, Mr. and Mrs. Noack left on the 10:13 train west for a short wedding visit with friends, and after their return will live in Little River.

Eckhardt – Wilcox

Popular Young People, Formerly of this City, Wedded in Missouri

Announcements of the marriage of Miss Frances Beyer Wilcox, of   St. Joe, Mo., to Walter J. Eckhardt, of Green Bay, which took place at the brides home last Saturday, were received here this week.

Both young people are well and favorably known here. The bride is the daughter of Dr. D. E. Wilcox of this city and made this her home until a few years ago when she went south with her mother but has been a frequent visitor here since.  Her sweet and amiable disposition has made her a general favorite among all her associates.

The groom has made his home in this city with his aunt, Mrs. E. A. Funke, for a number of years, and made many friends during his residence here. He is a member of the firm of Eckhardt & Dressen of Green Bay and is enjoying a good business.

Mr. and Mrs. Eckardt are expected here Saturday or Sunday and will be at home to their friends in Green Bay after March 1 at 607 Madison Street.

Their many friends extend their heartiest congratulations.
 
 

To Wed Feb 6
Miss Lucille Brazeau and Mr. Edgar St. Mary in Spokane

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Brazeau, of this city, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Mary Lucille, to Edgar A. St. Marie of Spokane. The wedding, for which about one hundred and fifty invitations have been sent out, will occur Thursday, Feb. 6th, at St. Louis, of Gonzaga church, Spokane, Rev. Father Falchi will officiate.

Miss Brazeau has resided in this city since last October, having come to Newport with her parents, who formerly resided in Oconto, Wisconsin, the former home of the groom.

Miss Brazeau, who is a popular and charming young lady, during her residence in this city has made many friends who will be pleasantly surprised to learn of her engagement.

Mr. Ste. Marie, the groom to be, is a well known and popular railroad man of Spokane, and at present is connected with the operating department of the Spokane & Inland Empire Ry. System. He has visited Newport several times and his pleasant manner always makes him new friends every time he comes here. The Newport Washington Miner.

At 2:00 this afternoon St. Peter’s Parsonage was the scene of a very pretty wedding to which the contracting parties were Miss Fronie Goulder of this city and Mr. Earl B. Crawford of Marshfield. They were attended by Miss Violetta Morrow and Mr. Joseph R. Heller, as bridesmaid and groomsman respectively. The Rev. Fr. Pete Tying the nuptial knot.

Miss Gertrude Nagelstock and Joseph Heller

At six o’clock Tuesday evening the parlors in the Lexinton Hotel at Chicago was the scene of one of the prettiest and most brillant weddings that has taken plce there in many a day, the contracting parties being Miss Gertrude Naglestock of Ironwodd Mich. and Mr. Joseph Heller of this city, Rabbi Dr. Shanfaerbet officiating. To the sweet strains of Lohengrin’s wedding march, rendered by a ladies Orchestra of Chicago, of whom are all artists; the bridal party entered the parlors, the bride laening on her father’s arm, and the groom, proceeded by the little ring bearer, Corene Fisher of Chicago.

Announcements were received here Monday of the marriage of Miss Lenora Luella Cook to Mr. Alphonse Parsons Edwards, Feb. 18, at Long Beach, California. During her residence here from Childhood to young womanhood Miss Cook won a host of friends who’s good wishes will follow her through her married life.

Miss Mayme Allen and Mr. Edward Bent Made One

Miss Lou Martineau, One of City’s Fairest Daughter’s, the Bride

Another pretty Oconto Wedding was that of Miss Lou Martineau, oldest daughter of A. M. Martineau of this city, and Bernard G. Snyder, oldest son of B. Snyder, of Green Bay, which took place at 7:30 Tuesday morning, at St. Joseph Church, Rev. Fr. Seibach officiating at high mass. They were attended by Miss Ella Davis and Mr. Fred Snyder, brother of the groom, of Green Bay as bridesmaid and groomsman respectively.

Married

Mr. Stanley Pawisk and Miss Josephine Komczak of Milwaukee were quietly married in the Spruce church Monday, March 2. Only a few of the most intimate friends were present at the reception, but in the evening they were over surprised when a sleigh load of young folks came to cheer up the wedding. Lead by a solo, sang by the mistress of the house, the crowd outside played them the lively tune on their instruments which was followed by a big party. Mr. and Mrs. Pawisk will reside in Spruce and we all extend our heartiest congratulations to the young couple in the future.

Albert Lemke of  Breed and Eva Way of  Mountain were married Tuesday afternoon at the formers home in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. They  were presented with many beautiful gifts and a good time was reported.  Mr. and Mrs. Lemke will reside in Breed and we all extend our heartiest congratulations to the young couple for their future happiness.

Quietly Married

Miss Estelle O’Connor and Mr. Wesley Lee were quietly married at Menominee, Mich., Feb. 26.  Both people are well and favorably known here, the bride having grown to womanhood in this city.  She was a graduate of the Oconto High school and at the time of  her marriage was engaged in teaching at Pensaukee. The groom is employed as brakeman on the C&NW Ry.  Running out of here and has made many friends during his residence in the city.  Mr. and Mrs. Lee will reside in Oconto.

Miss Marie Reimer, daughter of Mrs. Carl Reimer of the south ward, and Mr. Albert Gillis, on of our enterprising young businessmen were married in Menominee yesterday at high noon by Rev. Schuh, pastor of the St. Paulus Evangelical church of this city.

Dr. D.E. Wilcox, the well-known dentist of this city, and Miss Annie Johnson, the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Rugg, were united in marriage at Crown Point, Ind., last Thursday, May 14.  Judge Martin of that city officiated.

Married at Menominee

Miss Jessie Hurning and Mr. Albert Bartz, two well known young people of  Mountain, were married in Menominee, Mich. Tuesday, March 12. They have the best wishes of the host of friends for a long and happy live. They will be at home in Mountain after the first of next week.

Dr. Wilcox Married
To Miss Annie Johnson at Crown Point, Ind.

Dr. D. E. Wilcox, the well known dentist of this city, and Miss Anne Johnson, the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Rugg, were united in marriage at Crown Point, Ind., last Thursday, May 14, Judge Martin of that city officiating. 
Miss Johnson had been in Chicago about a month and last Wednesday Mr. Wilcox left for Chicago to join her and the following day they went to Indiana City where the ceremony was performed. After spending a week in Chicago Dr. and Mrs. Wilcox returned last evening and will occupy rooms adjacent to the Dr.’s office until their residence in the North Ward is vacated when they will reside there.

Miss Marie Reimer and Mr. Albert Gillis yesterday at High Noon

Miss Marie Remer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Reimer, of the South ward, and Mr. Albert Gillis, one of our enterprising Young business men, were married in Menominee yesterday at High Noon by Rev. Schuh, pastor of St. Paulus Evangelical church of this city. They were attended by Miss Tena Witte and Mr. Charles Koeppen as bridesmaid and groomsman, respectively.
They are spending a weeks honeymoon in Fond du Lac and will be at home nest Wednesday to their many friends who extend their heartiest congratulations.

Mr. Walter A. Harvey and Miss Louise Anding were married at the bride’s home in Lake City, Minn., Monday June 1. After July 1, they will be at home to their friends in Platteville, where the groom has been located for the last few years, as the representative of the Fairbanks Morse Company. The bride made numerous friends during her visit here last year and the groom has a host of friends in this county, where he has lived most of his life, whose congratulations and good wishes are extended the happy couple for their future.

Miss Lulu H. Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Stevens of Rose Lawn, Wis., and Mr. Guy W. VanVuren, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. VanVuren of Seymour, were married at Menominee, Saturday, May 30, by Rev. D. E. Long, pastor of the Presbyterian church at that place. They will reside in Lena.

Invitations are out for the wedding of Miss Tillie Wagner to Paul Truebenbach on June 10th. The wedding will take place at Bonduel in the Lutheran church with reception at the home of the bride’s parents.

Miss Effie Borden and Mr. Albert Rasmussen were united in marriage at the home of the groom’s parents at Spruce, Wednesday, May 27, Rev. Smith of Hickory performing the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Borden of Timme and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Rasmussen of Spruce. They were attended by Miss Estella Borden and Mr. Arthur Rasmussen as bridesmaid and groomsman respectively. The bride was attired in white net over white silk and the bridesmaid wore white mull. They left on a wedding trip to Menominee and other points. The young couple will reside in Shawano where the groom is employed. Their many friends extend congratulations. 

Marjorie Fulton Married

Word has been received here of the marriage of Miss Marjorie Fulton at the home of her mother at Fergus Falls last week Tuesday to Mr. Charles Owig. They will probably reside in Fergus Falls. Miss Fulton’s numerous friends here, extend their best wishes for the future of the happy couple.

William Merline and Miss Rose Marek
Keep it Secret 10 Months

At a wedding supper given at the bride’s parents to relatives and a few intimate friends, Mr. William Merline and Miss Rose Marek announced their marriage at Menominee, August 24, 1907, nearly ten months ago. They accompanied the late William Ryan and his wife to Menominee, when they were married on that day and it was given out that they were the attendants at that marriage, but it now turns out that they were the principal contracting parties as well. It is apparent they can keep a secret. Their large circle of friends here are today extending belated congratulations.  (editor's note: Witness and friend William Ryan had married Edith Driscol on the same day as this wedding and passed away after a two year battle with Tuberculosis. His death came the same week as this dinner announcing the secret wedding)

Brookside, Wis., June 11 – Mr. Joseph Kadlec, Jr. and Miss Katie Ennise, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ennise, were married June 10th in Menominee. The groom is a well-known young man of Spruce and the bride is well known lady of the town of Pensaukee. They were attended by Miss Helen Utech and Miss Rose Kirchner as bridesmaids and Mr. Edward Kadlec and Mr. Patrick Hyland as the grooms best men. They left on the 7:00 train the same evening on a trip to Milwaukee where they will spend their honeymoon. They will be at home to their friends in Brookside in a short time. They have the heartiest greetings from all their friends for a long and happy life.

Miss Christine Christensen and Mr. Sigfred Hansen, both residents of this city, were married at the Danish Lutheran Church at 3:00 yesterday afternoon, Rev. J. N. Jerslid of Neenah officiating. The bridal couple were attended by Miss Mary Hoarsen as bridesmaid and Mr. Nels Hansen as groomsman.

Miss Fannie Holupnik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Holupnik of Spruce and Mr. Joseph Svejda of Lena were married by County Judge H. F. Jones Tuesday afternoon. They were attended by Miss Mary Svejda sister of the groom and Thomas Kiedihan as bridesmaid and groomsman respectively. They have the best wishes of their many friends.

Mr. Samuel Goodman and Miss Ida Sverdid

Miss Ida Sverdid and Mr. Samuel Goodman were united in marriage at 8:00 last Sunday evening, Rabbi Kallins of Marinette officiating.  M. Breakstone and M. Abrams acted as witnesses. After the ceremony a bountiful wedding supper was served to a number of friends at the home of the groom’s brother, S. X. Goodman, the bride having arrived here but two weeks ago from Europe to join the man of her choice. Mr. and Mrs. Goodman left Tuesday evening for a few weeks’ visit in Fond du Lac.

Morgan

At 9:00 Wednesday morning, at Flintville church, Mr. Peter Moes of  Morgan and Miss Anna Cooney of Pittsfield were united in marriage by Rev. Fr. Kobes. The bride was attended by the Misses Mary Moes of Oshkosh and Mary Moes of Green Bay, cousins of the groom, and the groom by Mr. John Moes of Morgan, brother of the groom, and Mr. John Cooney of Pittsfield, brother of the bride. After the ceremony at the church, the relatives sat down to a bountiful wedding dinner at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. James Cooney of Pittsfield and is very popular among her associates. The groom is an industrious, steady young man of excellent habits and many qualities and has lived at Morgan for a number of years and has a large number of friends whose good wishes follow both young people and from whom they received a large number of beautiful presents.

Two more young people were made one yesterday afternoon when Rev. Olson of Gillett pronounced the vows, which he made them one. The contracting parties were Charles J. Hansen and Miss Hilda Johnson, both of Suring. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. U. Johnson, of Suring, and was one of the prettiest weddings that has taken place in Suring for sometime. The bride was attended by Miss Dagmar Johnson and the groom by James Johnson.
Mr. and Mrs. Hansen left on the 5:40 train for an extended wedding tour to Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Yellowstone Park and will spend the rest of the summer in the Rocky Mts. Mr. Hansen has a good position in Montana, being connected with the bridge and building department of the C. M. & St. Paul Railroad.

Oconto County Couple Married in Marinette

Tuesday afternoon in the Lauerman store on the third floor, a young couple from Oconto county were united in marriage. The ceremony was performed in the parlor on the third floor, which is part of the furniture exhibit. Justice Bernardy officiated and pronounced the words that made them man and wife. The bride was Susanna Bri of Brazeau, Oconto County, and the groom is August Olshefski of Morgan, Oconto county.  His brother was best man. During the ceremony a phonograph played “When life is brightest”.

At Crandon to Miss Emma Frances Heim Monday Morning

The following item taken from the Crandon Republican will be read with interest by some of our young people as Mr. Boucher made frequent visits to Oconto some time ago and his friends here extend heartiest congratulations:
A very quiet wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Heim Monday morning, when their daughter, Miss Emma Frances, was united in marriage to Otto F. Boucher by the Rev. Weber. Only the immediate relatives were present, and after the wedding breakfast the young couple took their departure for a visit with relatives at Seymour and Gillett, after which they will return to Crandon for a short time. Mr. Boucher is employed at Antigo, and in all probability make that his home. Mr. and Mrs. Boucher are too well know to need any introductions. Louis Boucher of Gillett was in attendance.

The happy couple spent last Friday night in the city on their return from their wedding trip.

Friends of Miss Ermina Plant of this city and Mr. William F. Davis of Hickory were very much surprised to learn of their marriage which took place at the Methodist parsonage in Escanaba last week Wednesday.
The bride was attired in a very becoming traveling suit of brown with hat to match and was unattended.
The bride is a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wiseman of the South ward and is highly respected young lady, having taught school in the county the last four years, the past year teaching in Oconto Falls.

Miss Anna Wolf and Mr. Fred Krueger Married Last April

Miss Anna Wolf of Oconto Falls and Mr. Fred Krueger of Pensaukee stole a march on their friends and were secretly married in Marinette, the 16th of April, and have kept it a secret up to the present time. The friends of Miss Catherine Cramer, former librarian at Farnsworth Public Library in this city, and Rev. H. L. Breitenbach, former pastor of St. Paul’s German Evangelical church, will be pleased to hear of their marriage which was quietly solemnized at the home of the bride in Baraboo yesterday.

Mr. and Mrs. Breitenbach will go to housekeeping at once in Elmhurst, Ill., where the groom has a flat already prepared for their occupancy and will be at home to their friends after January 15.

Miss Cramer left here in August 1907 to accept the position of librarian at the Wausau public library and Mr. Breitenbach in July 1907 to assume his duties in September as one of the instructors in Elmhurst College and both have a host of friends here whose congratulations and good wishes are extended to them.

Miss Maude Lucia Married Last Thursday Evening

Miss Maude Lucia of Green Bay and Mr. George Wildfang of Minneapolis were married last Thursday evening at the M. E. church in Green Bay. They were attended by Miss Gertrude Piper and Mr. W. H. Lucia, brother of the bride.

The bride is well known here having spent her girlhood days in this city. The groom is foreman of the large furniture plant controlled by Theo. Remratz at Minnieapolis.
