Jan. 6, 1893

Married

At the residence of her parents, 88 Eighth St. Fon du Lac, on Monday,
Jan. 8,1892, by Rev. Fr. Taugher, Miss Kate Conway to Mr. F. J.
Albrecht, of Kaukauna. The bride is a sister of Mr. T. J. Conway, of
this city, and is quite well known here having visited her brother and
his wife during most of last summer.

Married

On the evening of Dec. 31st, at 7 p.m. at the residence of Jackson
Couillard, Mr. William H. Meincke, of this city, and Miss Evilda
Couillard, of the town of Oconto, were united in marriage.
A jolly company of young people gathered to witness the ceremony, which
was performed by Rev. W. D. Cox, of Oconto. The young couple start in
life with good wishes of all who know them. After the ceremony the
company sat down to a table which was loaded with everything that could
be thought good to eat. May the young people live long and be happy
together.

At the M. E. parsonage, Grand Forks, North Dakota, Dec. 31, 1892, by
Rev. Mr. McGregor, Mr. S. H. Waggoner, formerly of this city, and Miss
Belle Sprauge, daughter of Postmaster J. B. Sprauge, Forest River, N. D.

The Grand Forks Daily Herald says; "The bride is one of Forest River's
most popular young ladies, who will be missed in church and temperance
work and all social gatherings. They both have a host of friends who
wish them prosperty." Steve's many friends in Oconto will be pleased to
learn of the step he has taken, and will unite in wishing him a long and
happy Life.

The engagement of Miss Emma Gottschalk of Milwaukee and Mr. Jacob Ullman of this city, was announced January 15.

Married

The marriage of Fred N. Brett, son of Dr. and Mrs. B. C. Brett, to Miss
Fannie C. Hart, daughter of Captain and Mrs. H. W. Hart, took place
Saturday at 4:00 at the residence of Dr. B. C. Brett, the Rev. F. R.
Haff, of Christ church, officiating.
 

Word was received by Mrs. Geo. Beyer Monday of the death of her mother,
Mrs. Page, at her home in Minnesota, and at noon of that day Mrs. Beyers
left for Fon du Lac, to which place the remains were brought for burial.
Mrs. D. E. Wilcox, Mrs. Beyers sister, left last week for the home of
her mother, but Mrs. Page had died some hours before the arrival of her
daughter.

D. H. Harris Weds Allie Jackson

Miss Allie Jackson, who has been visiting for some weeks, was secretly married at Kenosha, Jan 12 to D. H. Harris, trader for A. C. Buell & Co., of the board of trade. She is an only daughter, and her father, Andrew Jackson, a wealthy Oconto lumberman.

Married

At St. Joseph's church, in this city on Sunday, Jan.29. 1893, by the
Rev. Fr. Lockman, Miss Lydia Plucher, of Oak Orchard, to Mr. Ernst
Papenfus, of this city.

After the church services a reception was held at the residence of Henry
K. Ansorge, at 5 o'clock p.m. A sumptuous repast was spread and partaken
of by 50 couples. When the inner man was well satisfied, the military
band struck up it's strains and the "light fantastic" was enjoyed until
the "we sma' hours".

Feb. 17, 1893

 A quiet wedding took place at Mountain, Feb 4, at the residence of the
bride's father, Mr. Thomas McAllan. The contracting parties were
Elizabeth McAllan, of Mountain, and Edward Banta, of Underhill. The
ceremony was performed By A. C. Frost, Justice of the Peace, at nine
o'clock p.m. Miss Jeannie Banta acted as the bride's-maid and Edwin
Gauthier as best man. The remainder of the evening was spent dancing and
visiting and a wedding supper at twelve o'clock. Many good wishes for
happiness and prosperity were extended to the happy couple. They intend
to make their home in Mountain.

Married

At the home of her mother in this city, the Hotel Pierce, on Saturday,
March 18, 1893, by the Rev. G. Bossord, pastor of the First Presbyterian
church, Miss Cora M., only daughter of Mrs. J. Wolf, to Mr. Bert L.
Bertchy, of Milwaukee.
 

The bride is a well-known and popular young lady who has resided in
Oconto most of her brief life, and enjoys the love and esteem of scores
of friends. The groom is a representative of a Milwaukee wholesale
house, and being bright, capable and industrious he enjoys the
confidence of his employers and a warm friendship of innumerable
acquaintances.

After the wedding, which was a very quiet one in deference to the
bride's wishes, dinner was served and Mr. and Mrs. Bertchy left for a
month's wedding tour. They will make their home at the Hotel Pierce in
this city.

Buckman - Redeman

A pleasing and interesting event took place at Amberg, Thursday, April
20; namely the marriage of Mr. Louis Redeman and Miss Myrtle Buckman.
The ceremony was performed in the Presbyterian church by the Rev. Thos.
Austin, of Abrams. The bride and bridesmaid, Miss Mamie Redeman, sister
of the groom, were becomingly attired in cream cashmere costumes made
after the empire style. The groom was supported by Mr. Wm. Hills of
Green Bay. The church was filled by the wedding guests, suggestions of
the esteem in which the bride and groom were held.
After the happy couple were united in the bonds of holy wedlock, they,
with the guests of the occasion, repaired to the Commercial House, where
a sumptuous repast was served, and where the newly married pair were
recipients of many kindly wishes and also of numerous handsome and
substantial gifts.

Gagon - Massey

At St. Joseph's church, Menominee, Mich., at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 3,
1893, by Rev. Fr. Cleary, Miss Addie Gagnon to Mr. J. B. Massey.
Both young people hail from this city where they have hosts of friends
who join with the Reporter in extending congratulations to the happy
couple.

The bride is a sister of Max Gagnon and Mrs. S. B. Simpson, of this
city, and of Mrs. Albert Richard, of Menominee, and is a most  highly
esteemed  young lady of vivacious disposition and pleasing manners.  The
groom, originally from Chicago, had held the position of weighmaster for
the Northwestern Weighing Association, in this city for two years past,
during which time he has made a legion of friends here.

After a wedding breakfast at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. A.
Richard, the newly wedded pair took the 11:17 a.m. train for Chicago
where Mr. M. will embark in business.

Married at St. Joseph's Church, in this city, on Wednesday, May 17th, by
Rev. Fr. Lochman, Nellie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hearld,
to Wm. S. Small.
 

John Mills and Miss Jennie Robinson were married last Tuesday at Green
Bay, and are now "at home" to there many friends in their new home in
Frostville. They have the best wishes of all.

Burnside - Classon

a very pleasant wedding occurred in this city Wednesday forenoon, June
14th, 1893, at 10:30 o'clock, at the residence of the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Burnside, being the marriage of Miss Mabel V. to Mr.
David Classon. The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. G. Bossard,
pastor of the first Presbyterian church, in presence of only the
immediate relatives of the contracting parties, the bride and groom
being attended by Miss Agnes Burnside as bridesmaid, and Mr. W. Classon
as groomsman.
 

Porter - Heath

At St. Mark's church, Thursday morning, June 15th, 1893, at ten o'clock,
Clara belle, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Porter, was united in
marriage to Mr. Frank Wallace Heath, only son of Ald. and Mrs. Henry
Rayner, the marriage service of the Episcopal church being performed by
the rector, Rev. L. D. Hopkins.

At the Presbyterian Manse, by the Rev. G. Bossard, on June 10th, 1893,
Mr. Martin Erickson to Miss Mary Erickson, both of Maple Valley, Wis.

Menominee, Mich., Rev. S. W. Ford officiated on the occasion.

Lena—Monday Miss Clara Cayo and Mr. Monroe Ruelle of this place took a trip to Stiles where they were united in the holy bonds of matrimony; and Tuesday morning Miss Eliza Dionne and Mr. Harry Rosera, followed by many friends, repaired to the church where they were also united as man and wife.

At the residence of the bride's parents, town of Chase, Oconto county,
on Tuesday, June 27th 1893, by Rev. Mr. Austin, pastor of the M. E.
Church at Abrams, Mable N., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McClure to
Francis M. Thomas, of this city.

Captain H. C. Gillett and Leah Junod, both of Marinette, were united in
marriage in the city of Shawano, on the 17th. Rev. W. D. Cox
officiating.

On Wednesday, June 21, the marriage of Mr. George Jones and Miss Jennie
Wan Able, was solemnized at the residence of the Bishop, Green Bay, Rev.
Ricklen officiated. The happy couple are well known and highly esteemed
young people, and their host of friends wish them a happy journey, on
their married voyage of life.

On Monday morning, June 26th, 1893 at the residence of the bride's
parents, Main street, by the Rev. G. Bossard, pastor of the First
Presbyterian church, Miss May Farrell to Mr. Al. Klass, both of this
city.

At the home of the parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B.
Tallmadge, Oconto, Oconto Co., Wis., on Tuesday, the 27th day of June
1893, by Rev. Lucius D. Hopkins, Priest in charge of St. Mark's Church,
Oconto Wis., Mr. Hugh Neil, to Miss Mary Bell Talmadge.

At St. Peter's Church by Re. Fr, Vaillant , Monday, June 26th, Mr.
Johney Magloire, of Menominee, Mich., to Miss Mina Page, of Oconto.

Miss Daisy Flatley and Mr. Jake Maurer were united in the holy bonds of
matrimony on Tuesday, Sept. 12th, at Stiles, Rev. Father Leccia
officiating. They have the best wishes of all the good people of the
Falls.

Mr. Joe. Boule and Miss Carrie Gonne, of DePere, stopped at the Falls on
Monday and were united in wedlock by our justice, John H. Volk.

Albert J. Cummings to Cora Della Harris, both of Oconto, at the bride's
parents on the 4th inst. Rev. W. D. Cox officiating.

Mr. H. J. Watts, of Gillett, and Mrs. L. F. Brockbank, of this city,
were united in marriage at the cathedral at Green Bay, on Thursday, Aug.
31st, 1893, Rev. Fr. Ricklin officiating.

The bride, who is a sister of Mrs. Ed Davis and Mrs. Dan Sullivan, has
been a resident of this city for less then two years, having come here
from Washington, D.C. and her pleasing appearance and amiable
disposition have drawn to her many friends during her short stay here.
The groom is a prominent citizen of Gillett, where he is engaged in the
mercantile business besides besides being postmaster at that village.
After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Watts departed for Chicago on a bridal
trip. The Reporter joins with their many friends in congratulations.

justice of the peace, Mr. James W. Whiting and Miss Mary F. Exford, both
of the town of Oconto.

In the town of Oconto, on the 27th day of Sept. 1893, Mr. Andrew Pearl,
of the city of Oconto, and Miss Mary L. Whiting, of the town of Oconto.
D.E. Whiting, justice of the peace, officiated and pronounced the
marriage ceremony.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 27th, 1893, at the residence of the
parents of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Russell, of the town of
Oconto, Oconto county, by rev. Lucius D. Hopkins, Priest in charge of
St. Mark's church, Oconto, Mr. Charles Chester Rice, of Hunt's Spur,
Mich., and Miss Ella Grace Russell, of the town of Oconto.

The bride is a bright, intelligent young lady, a native of the town of
Oconto, and is loved and esteemed by many friends. The groom was
formerly a resident of Abrams, but for some time past has been engaged
in the mercantile business at Hint's Spur, Mich., and is spoken of as a
capable and upright business man. The happy couple will leave next
Tuesday for their home. The REPORTER joins in congratulations.

Mr. Sam T. Wood and Miss Ella Smith, were married last evening at 5
o'clock. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's mother,
Mrs. A. Smith, and Rev. Crosby, pastor of the Baptist church,
officiated. Dr. Wilcox acted as best man, and the bridesmaid was Miss
Nellie Cameron. The wedding was entirely private and only the closest
friends and relatives witnessed it. Mr. Wood is a young man of sterling
worth whose friends are legion in Menominee. His bride, Miss Smith, is a
charming young lady and is very popular. Mr. and Mrs. Wood will
immediately go to housekeeping. - Menominee Leader.

At the residence of Dr. J. J. Sherman, at Marinette, Wis., on Thursday,
Nov. 16, 1893, Miss Annie Bently, of Marinette and Mr. Guy Winthrop
Holms, of Menominee, Mich.
Miss Bently resided in this city for several years with her aunt, Mrs.
Richard L. Hall, and is the most charming young lady, attractive in
person and pleasing in manner.
Mr. Holms is a Menominee gentleman of good prospects, being the son of
Wm. Holms, the well known logger and lumberman. The bride and groom left
in the evening on an extended trip, Washington the Capital city being
the objective point of their journey.
At the residence of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. Moses Appleby, on
Friday evening, Nov. 3rd, 1893, Rev. G. Bossard performing the ceremony,
Miss Margaret Appleby and Mr. Robert Alexander.
The young couple are well and favorably known, and a large number of
friends entertained the best wishes for them in their new relationship.

A Society Wedding

Ellis - Schofield

One of the prettiest home weddings that has occurred in this city for a
long time was that consummated at the handsome residence of Mr. and Mrs.
O. A. Ellis on upper Main street Tuesday evening, Nov. 21st, the
contracting parties being Miss Gertrude, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ellis, to Mr. George I. Scofield.

1893, by Rev. Thomas Austin, pastor of the M.E. church, Miss Margaret
Volk, of Oconto Falls, Wis., to Mr. W. G. McCorristen, of East St.
Louis, Ill.
