William Herbert Knowles and Ella Jane McClure, both of Abrams, Wis., were united in marriage at 7:00 p.m., Dec. 25, Rev. W.D. Cox, officiating.

Married – At Stiles, on Thursday, Jan. 10, Mr. W. H. Orr, of Wausaukee, to Minnie Vartz, of this place, Rev. Fr. E. Leccia officiating. A dance was given in the evening at Mr. L. Ruell’s house and the wedding folks enjoyed themselves by dancing until the “wee sma’ hours”, and then walked home; only two and a half miles. Beebo is above carrying women folks in his carryall.

A.D. Washburn and Mrs. E. House, of Oconto, were married Wednesday, Jan 21. They gave a pleasant party at the town hall Friday night; a large crowd assembled and enjoyed themselves dancing until the “wee sma’ hours.”

Mr. Frank Leavenworth of Pike, and Miss Ida Erdman, of Brookside, were married Christmas, at Pike.

Mr. Jerry Wren and Mrs. Mary Wren were quietly married by the Rev. Fr. Schweibach on Monday evening. The marriage ceremony took place at the priest’s residence. The happy couple were the recipients of Congratulations from a host of friends.

Herbert C. Smith, editor of the Iron Mountain Journal, and Alfe C. Sweet were married at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Freeman, 6752 Winter Street, Englewood, Chicago, at 5:00 Thursday afternoon, Feb. 5th.

Joined in Wedlock

The marriage of Mr. George Waters of this city, to Miss Florence E. Long, of Edgerton, was solemnized in the Congregational church at the latter place at 7:00 Tuesday evening, Feb. 10, 1891, by Rev. Mr. Keller, resident pastor. The ceremony was witness by a large number of invited guests, who were subsequently entertained at the bountiful wedding supper at the home of the bride’s parents about two miles from Edgerton. At the conclusion of the supper the happy couple repaired to the parlors of the Commercial House, in the city, where they received their friends for two hours, when refreshments were served, after which Mr. and Mrs. Waters boarded the train for Chicago, where they spent a few days of site seeing. On their return they will pass through this city to Florence to make a brief visit with Mrs. Angle, a sister of Mr. W. and will arrive home next week.

G. W. Sargent and Etta F. Knowles, both of Abrams, Wis., were united in marriage at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Knowles, at Abrams, at 8 o’clock p.m., April 29, 1891. Mr. H. W. Bent acted as groomsman and Miss Edith R. Birmingham as bridesmaid. A large company gathered to witness the ceremony, and to partake of the well-prepared wedding dinner. Rev. W. D. Cox, of Oconto, officiated.

Mr. Russell Newman Hawes and Miss Kate Maud Burnette were united in marriage at the residence of the bride’s parents, in this city, on Monday evening June 1st at 8:30 p.m., Rev. W. D. Cox officiating. The youngcouple left on the evening train to Green Bay.

John Barry Dunn, of Milwaukee, and Nellie A. Parcells, of this city were united in marriage in the parlors of the bride located over Goodrich & Martineau’s store, on Tuesday evening, June 23, 1891. Rev. W. D. Cox officiating.

John Henry Volk, of Oconto Falls, and Minnie Raloff of this city, were united in marriage, at the Methodist parsonage, on Wednesday evening, June 24, 1891, by Rev. W. DD. Cox officiating.

Church at Green Bay, Miss Nannie, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Lucas to Mr. Charles McGee, of Two Harbors, Minn., only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McGee, of this city.

Martin Extram and Annie Redman were united on marriage in this city, on the 23rd day of November. Both parties live in the town of Oconto. Rev. W. D. Cox officiating.
