At the residence of the bride’s parents in the town of Oconto, on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1890 by the Rev. G.W. Luther, Mr. A.C. Caldwell, of Oconto Falls, and Miss Alice, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.C. Cook.

The ceremony was performed in the presence of relatives of the contracting parties only. The bride is a sister of W.P. Cook brothers of this city, and is a most estimable young lady, whose many good qualities have endeared her to large number acquaintances. The groom is the son of Mr. D. Caldwell of Oconto falls, and is a thorough going young business man, possessed of qualities requisite to capably fulfill the duties he has just assumed. The Reporter has pleasure in adding its congratulations to those of their numerous friends.

Thursday evening, April 10, 1890, at the home of Wm. Arnold, brother of the bride, by Rev. L.D. Hopkins, Chas. A. Brigden to Miss Dora Arnold.

This was another quiet and sudden move to matrimony, and though it has been expected by friends of the contracting parties they were scarcely prepared to tender congratulations on so brief a notice. However, the good wishes that go after the happy couple are none the less genuine because hurried. The bride is an industrious and estimable young lady, who has resided in this city all her life, and her friends are as numerous as her acquaintances. The groom is assistant principle in the High school in this city, and is a talented and capable young gentleman, endowed with a stock of force and energy that is bound to carry him to the front battle of life. The Reporter extends its best wishes to the happy couple.

Married, at the residence of the bride’s parents, on Tuesday, April 15, 1890, by Rev. G.W. Luther, Mr. Fred Wright, to Alice daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tim. Thomas. The marriage was solemnized in the presence of only a few friends and relatives of the contracting parties. The young people enjoy the friendship of a large circle of acquaintances, all of whom unite in tendering their sincerest congratulations to the happy couple who have just embarked on the sea of matrimony.

Married, at the bride’s parents, St. Nathans, on Monday, April 21, 1890, by the Rev. F. Roberson, Miss Stella May McClure to Mr. Daniel C. Emery, of Menominee. Mr. and Mrs. Emery have taken up residence in Menominee.

Word was received in this city during the week of the marriage of Dr. Rosenberry of Harrison, Wis., formerly of Oconto. The lady of his choice is deponent sayeth not, for the reason that we did not learn her name.

At the residence of the bride’s mother, in this city, on Tuesday, April 29, 1890, by the Rev. G.W. Luther, Mr. Robert Hall, of Garden, Mich., to Miss Annie Grunert, second daughter to Mrs. Mary M. Grunert.

The bride is one of the most popular young ladies in this city, whose quiet and ladylike conduct have gained her the esteem and love of many friends, whose best wishes accompany her in her new sphere of life. The fortunate gentleman, Mr. Hall, is a most estimable young man possessing a happy combination of pleasantness and energy, characteristics which have evoked for him the respect of all who know him. The Reporter has pleasure in extending it’s sincere congratulations.

The wedding of Mr. Bernard Ehlebrecht and Miss Hattie Kerker, at the Lutheran church near St. Nathans, last Sunday afternoon, was attended by quite a number from this vicinity. Full justice was done to a liberal supply of refreshments in the evening.

At the priest’s residence, on Thursday evening, May 15, 1890, by the Rev. Fr. Vaillant, pastor of St. Peter’s church, Mr. A.M. Martineau to Miss Minnie Simpson, eldest daughter of Mr. Thomas Simpson, both of this city.

The bride is an accomplished and gifted young lady who has grown from infancy to womanhood in this city, and who is held in high esteem by her numerous acquaintances. The groom is a well known young business man, a member of the mercantile firm of Goodrich & Martineau, and possesses an enviable reputation as a man of integrity and business capacity. The good wishes of the legion of friends follow the happy couple in their new relations. Immediately after the marriage ceremony the newly wedded pair were driven to the C. & N. W. R’y and boarded the south bound passenger train. They will be absent a couple of weeks, and on their return will make their home at the residence of the bride’s father, Mr. Simpson.

Married, at the residence of the groom’s parents, on May 17, Miss Amelia Crumms, of Ludsic, Germany, and Mr. Frank Prodell, of Abrams, the Rev. F. Roberson officiating. Congratulations extended.

On Wednesday Mr. Frank Pererinski and Miss Barbara Scaridleski departed from the state of single blessedness to that of double happiness, Rev. Fr. Garns officiating; after the ceremony the happy couple departed for their home in Maple Valley, and with them went the best wishes of their many friends in this locality.

Miss Hattie Golden and Nelson Goodchild of this place, were married at Green Bay last Thursday.

Charles W. Wilkins, of Bagley, Michigan and Celina J. Bushonville, of Oconto, were united in marriage at the residence of Mr. Stephen miner, this city, on June the 10th, 1890. Rev. W.D. Cox officiating.

At the residence of C.B. Alvord, in the town of Oconto, Wednesday June 4, 1890, by Rev. F. Roberson, of Abrams, Miss Carrie Atkins, of Brookside and Mr. Oliver Couillard, of Couillardville.

At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Coffin, at Abrams on Monday, June 9, 1890, by Rev. F. Roberson, of Abrams, Miss Jennie Carr to Mr. James Holms, both of Menominee, Michigan.

At Abrams, on Saturday, May 31st, 1890, by W.A. McKinley, justice of the peace, Mr. Edson Ketchum of St. Nathans (now Chase) and Miss Frances E. Walker, of Pound, Marinette.
 

Mr. Wm. Doney, of this place, and Miss Gusta Bagley, of Oconto falls, were united in marriage Thursday at the residence of the bride’s parents. It was well attended by quite a number in this vicinity. Full justice was done to a liberal supply of refreshments in the evening.

A very quiet wedding took place at the residence of Mr. Alford, Wednesday, June 4, by Rev. F. Roberson, the contracting party being Oliver Couillard and Miss Cora Atkins. The best wishes of a host of friends go with them.

Married at the residence of the bride’s parents on Wednesday evening June 18, Mr. E. J. Johnson, principle of the Abrams School, and Miss Mertie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.T. Richer, of Abrams. Rev. F. Roberson officiating. The happy couple took the night train for Milwaukee and will enjoy an extended wedding tour through Michigan. Mr. Johnson has made a host of warm friends and not a single enemy during his residence here. Mrs. Johnson is too well known to need any eulogy from us, having resided here with her parents from childhood. Our earnest with is that Mr. and Mrs. Johnson May return to reside permanently among us.

Married on June 18th, about 30 guests gathered at the residence of the bride’s parents to witness the marriage of Miss Mertie E. Richer and Mr. Edwin J. Johnson, both of Abrams. The bride received a goodly number of presents, consisting of towels, table cloths, cake stands, silverware, etc. Mr. Johnson and his young wife have gone to Lakeview, Mich., to spend a few weeks. They have our hearty congratulations.

The marriage of James Smith, of Oconto, and Miss Kate Farrell Murphy, of the same place, occurred at the office of Justice J.A. Killian, Green Bay, Sunday.

At the residence of the bride’s parents in the town of Oconto, on Wednesday, July 2, 1890, by Rev. G.W. Luther, Miss Mary Caldwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Caldwell, to Mr. John Payne of the town of Peshtigo.

The bride is a most estimable young lady, and is richly endowed with those qualities of heart and mind that endear her to all who enjoyed the privilege of her acquaintance.
The fortunate groom is a prosperous young farmer of the town of Peshtigo and occupies a high place in the esteem of a large circle of friends. He is the son of Mr. Thomas Payne, formerly book-keeper and cashier of the Peshtigo Company.

Only a few of the most intimate friends of the contracting parties were present at the ceremony. After partaking of the wedding supper the happy couple were driven to Marinette, where they took the boat for Garden Bay, Mich., where they will remain for a week or ten days. Upon their return they will take up residence in the town of Peshtigo.
A number of very handsome presents were received as a slight testimonial of the regard of friends.

Married, at the M.E. parsonage, DePere, Wis., on Tuesday July 15, 1890, by the Rev. J.D. Cole, Miss Ida C. Millar, of Big Suamico, to Mr. John Peters Jr. of Little Suamico.

Amos Aquila Wilton, of How, to Agnes Bessie Redman, of town of Oconto, were united in marriage on Sunday morning, August 8. at the residence of Mr. Edwards in this city, Rev. W.D. Cox officiating.

Joseph Burkmier of this city, and Mrs. Barbara Haubrich, of Sturgeon Bay, were married at Green Bay last Saturday. They were given a rousing tin pan serenade shortly after their return to Stiles.

Mr. Ed Leigh of this place and Miss Louise Fabrey, of School Section, were united in marriage Sunday, but as we were unable to learn who the clergyman was we can not give particulars

Miss Lillian Washburn formerly of Oconto and Albert Martindale of Morgan were married Aug. 17th by J.C. Banta.

At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Bush, at Abrams, Wis., on Friday evening, Sept 5th 1890, by Rev. F. Roberson, Miss Lauretta Goddard to Mr. Sherman Bush.

A large number of guests were assembled at the palatial residence of the grooms parent’s to witness the solemnization of the nuptials of this young couple who were deservedly popular in the community in which they reside. The bride is the youngest daughter of the late John Goddard, of Brookside, and is a sister of Sr. J.H. Goddard of Brookside, and Mrs. E.C. Whitney of this city. She is a lady of prepossessing appearances and is endowed with many excellent qualities of mind and heart. The groom is the son of Mr. D.L. Bush, who is a prosperous farmer besides being one of the largest logging operators in this section.

The kindest wishes of a host of friends, among whom May be included the REPORTER, go with the happy couple in their new sphere of life.

Married, at the residence of the bride’s mother, Sept. 6, by Rev. F. Roberson, Miss Ida Rosencrantz, of this place, and Mr. Harry Birmingham, of Abrams. They are both well known and highly respected. The best wishes of a host of friends go with them through the matrimonial journey.

A very pleasant wedding took place Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. Caldwell, at Oconto Falls, where their only daughter, Ida May was married to G.W. Burnside, only son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Burnside of Stiles.

Promptly at 3:00 the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Burdick, of the Presbyterian Church.

The bride, who has charming manners and is agreeable and handsome, wore a costly robe of pale blue silk. She was attended by the grooms sister, Miss Agnes Burnside, who looked very pretty in a dainty gown of cream white china silk.

The groom is well and favorably known in this city. He is a successful young business man and is very popular. Mr. McElroy of Milwaukee was best man. Mr. and Mrs. Burnside drove to Stiles in the evening and took the south bound train on the Milwaukee and Northern for a brief bridal tour; which will terminate at Bear Creek, Wis., where the groom is agent for the Milwaukee, Lake Shore & Northwestern R. R’y.

A host of friends join in wishing them a happy and successful journey through life.

LIEB – BACON – Mr. Ernest B. Leib, of Minneapolis, Minn., to Miss Mina M. Bacon of this city, on the evening of Sept. 15, at the residence of the bride’s parents, Rev. J. Beadle officiating.

On Monday evening last at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Bacon, corner of 5th Ave. and Edison Street, occurred one of the social events of the season, the occasion being the marriage of their eldest daughter, Mina M., to Ernest B. Lieb, of Minneapolis, Minn. The choicest flowers of conservatory and garden, supplemented by masses of golden rod and evergreens, converted the parlor into a verisable autumn bower. At the stroke of midnight the bridal party entered and took their places under a beautiful arch, where the ceremony was conducted by Rev. B. Beadle, pastor of the M.E. Church. The bride wore an elegant costume of cream China silk, cut décolleté, with train, and carried a bouquet of superb roses. She was attended by three maids, Miss Hattie Lieb of Minneapolis, Miss Belle Gilkey, of Oconto, and Miss Caddy Bacon. They were beautifully attired in cream serge, and carried bouquets of pink roses. Mr. Frank Tissdale, of Minneapolis, were attired in the conventional evening dress. After the ceremony a most tempting wedding breakfast was partaken by the guests from home and abroad. The wedding gifts were elegant and costly. Mr. and Mrs. Lieb left on the morning train for Minneapolis, from whence they go to the Pacific coast. A large number of friends accompanied the newly-wedded couple to the depot. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Lieb will be at No. 20 College Ave., St. Paul, Minn.  Antigo News Item

At the home of the bride’s parents on Wednesday evening, Oct. 1st, Balthasar P. Hepp and Annetta Bradley, both of Lena, were united in marriage; Rev. F. Roberson officiating. Miss D. Bradley acted as bridesmaid, and Mr. F. B. Halstead as groomsman. Mr. Hepp and his young wife have our best wishes for success in life.

On Friday evening, Oct. 3,at the home of the bride’s parents, at Abrams, Harry F. Schultz, of Fort Howard and Mary Rifenberg, of Abrams, were united in matrimony, Rev. F. Roberson officiating. Miss Hattie Rifenberg acted as bridesmaid and Mr. E. Rifenberg as groomsman.

Miss Catherine Dafter, of Marinette and Geo. Wilson Small of Oconto were married in St. Paul’s Episcopal church at Marinette, Monday by Rev. Wm. Dafter, rector and father of the bride.

At St. Mark’s Episcopal church, on Saturday, Oct 11, 1890 by the Rev. L. D. Hopkins, Miss Maggie Freeward to Mr. Wm. J. Durand, both of this city.
The bride, who is a sister of Mrs. W. M. Lee, is a bright intelligent young lady of prepossessing appearance. She was for about a year a compositor in the Reporter office, and during that time earned the good will and esteem of the entire force and all, together with many more friends, entertain only the best wishes for her new sphere of life, and trust that she may continue to aid in the production of many creditable editions. The groom is a young gentleman of good ability, a former resident of Fond du Lac, but who has been employed as operator at the Milwaukee & Northern depot in this city. The happy couple, after partaking of a wedding dinner at the residence of Capt. Lee, took the 12:35 train for southern points, to be absent a week on a bridal tour.

Bacon of the city, and Miss Lillie Rhode, also of this city, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Rhode, were united in the holy bonds of matrimony at 7:00 Monday morning, at St. Frances Xavier Cathedral, the Rev. Married at the home of the bride’s father, Mr. Amos C. Whiting, Springdale, Fond du Lac Co., at high noon, on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1890, Miss Elmira R. Whiting to Mr. Wilber E. Hopkins. The ceremony was preformed by the Rev. L. D. Hopkins of St. Mark’s church, of this city, brother of the groom.
The groom has a number of acquaintances in this city who unite in best wishes for the future of the young couple.
