September 5, 1922 researched by Richard LaBrosse Probably the worst tragedy that ever occurred in Klondike happened Saturday night when the three year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Janovsky met death in the fire that destroyed their home. Word was received here this week announcing the death Monday of John Morris in New York city. Mrs. Morris was formerly Agnes Cole of this city. The oldest couple in the United States, Mr. and Mrs.
James Bell, Sr., Abrams, was separated by death Friday. After an
illness of several months from a complication of troubles incident to old
age, James Bell, Sr. died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jane Christian
Friday. At the time of his death he was over 105 years old.
His wife, who survives him is 103 years old.

September 21, 1922 contributor: Richard La Brosse Mrs. Sylvester Liegeois of Brookside died suddenly last Saturday while visiting her sister, Mrs. Alex Laduron of Green Bay. Frank Grunniwaldt, 28, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Grunnwaldt, died at his home in Suring Thursday evening, September 14. After a years prolonged illness, Adam Patz passed away Tuesday December 12. Mr. Patz, a former resident of Pound. Hunter C. Orr, for the past eight years County Clerk of Oconto county, passed away Monday at his home, 197 Park Ave. after an illness of about one and one half years. Mistaking medicine for candy, little Lucille Rahn, eighteen months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rahn of Suring, died from the effects of eating an over dose of the contents of two boxes of the medicine last Wednesday. John B. Galbraith, 64, woods superintendent for Oconto Company, died at his home here Friday morning at seven following a stroke of apoplexy. Mrs. Gust Birholtz, Sampson, died suddenly at the Oconto Falls hospital. Mrs. Birholtz was the mother of seven children. Funeral service for Charles Jolly, aged 72, who passed
away Thursday morning following a long illness, were held at St. Peters
church Saturday morning the Rev. Fr. Looze officiating.

October 19, 1922 Word was received in Kelley Brook Saturday evening of the death of Steve Yashinski, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Yashinski. The funeral of Mrs. Theresa Degeneffe, a resident of the town of Oconto for forty years, who died Tuesday following an illness of six weeks with heart trouble, was held Friday morning from St. Peter’s Church. Rose Beland, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Treffle Beland,
formerly of Lena, died at a hospital in Canada September 28.
