Manske Family
Bertha Emma Manske (Mittag) in
back left, along with her siblings. I know that my Great Grandmother
was born in Germany, and immigrated to US at the age of 2 (born in 1880),
but I think that her brothers and
sisters may have born here.
Pages from the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church book show some Manskes that
were born in 1880s in Gillett.
It listed the following births:
A girl on Aug. 5, 1882 (First
Name cut off on copy, Middle name Clara last
name Manske), as well as Alfried
in 1885,
Hermann in 1889,
Eliese in 1891,
Emil in 1894 (died as infant),
Walter 1895, and
Eduard in 1898.
I found listings of Manske births, and think her siblings are possibly named (born): Alfried (1885), Hermann (1889), Eliese (1891), Walter (1895), Eduard (1889). Another sister may have been born 1882, but I can't make out the name on copy I have. One of the brothers may have been the Station Master at the Wabeno train station.
Any information on the Manskes, or when they immigrated to the U. S. from Germany would be appreciated. (I believe they came over with the Zutz family and another family.)
