See petitions dated 1807 & 1811(in file) He served
in the 42nd Regiment in the American Revolution, on the British side making
him a Loyalist settler in New Brunswick. The petitions were to give land
to his sons John & Alexander in 1807. The petition of 1811 added William.
The 1807 petition showed his name as McFarling & signed as McFarling.
However the 1811 petition showed the nane & signed as McFarlane. The
researcher Tony LeBlanc of Chocolate River Consulting, Riverview, NB belives
it is the same man, however he lacks conclusive proof.
