.DeROSIER .
Contributed by Greg
DeRosier
My paternal grandparents, Wilfred Gregory DeRosier and
Antoinette "Agnes" Aubry - DeRosier lived in Oconto for
most of their lives and are buried in the Catholic Cemetery
in Oconto. A life time citizen of Oconto, Agnes Aubry's
parents owned a bakery in Oconto for many years.
Fred Aubry owned a service station and Dumas Aubry (spelling
unsure) lived in Oconto as well.
Wilfred DeRosier was born in Marinette County around Feb.
16, 1893 and his Dad, Ovid "David" DeRosier had a farm
there. Ovid's wife, was Mary Brabant. They
are also buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Oconto. Ovid's father
was
Prudent DeRosier. I have very limited information
about him. Prudent's father was Gregory DeRosier. Gregory,
a
French Canadian lived in Canada as I understand.
I have very limited information about him as well.
I have access to my father's relatively extensive computer
records of birth dates, marriage date, death dates and
various names of relatives on both my father and mother's
side. My maternal grandmother was Agnes Trepanier
also buried in the Catholic Cemetery with her parents,
David (Ovid) Trepanier. I don't recall great-grandmother's
name at this time but my Dad has this information.
With many names and dates, I still long for other information.
I don't have stories of the DeRosier family in
Marinette County and Oconto County. Wilfred was a machinist
and a lumber man as well. He worked for the
Oconto Company for many years. He also worked in
Nahma (spelling unsure) Michigan in the U.P. on Bay De Noc or
Little Bay De Noc. I have a few stories but nothing
prior to Wilfred.
