.BOOS - BOWZ - BEAUCE.
FAMILY ALBUM

Researched by  Louise Gélinas

DESCENDANCY

I am a French Canadian who is researching a branch of my family, Joseph Booz - Bowz that immigrated to Oconto County, Wisconsin in 1879. We lost track of them.  One of my goals, also, is to find out where Pierre Booze, our first ancestor on the American continent, comes from.  I am presently in contact with a renown historian and researcher on the German Mercenaries during the American Revolution.  He is particularly
interested in those who chose to remain in Canada after the war.  He has already confirmed to me that a german military with a Boos surname was demobilized in Quebec City around 1783 and was allowed to remain in Canada.  We will soon be able to confirm if that person was or was not the "Pierre Booze" that I am looking for, allowing us, then, to find his lineage through Europe. I will be glad to share information with American members of the Boos family, and help them to trace their origins.  Thank you, Louise Gélinas

NOTES: At their arrival on Canadian soil, Pierre Booze and Angélique Petit were protestants.  But they probably forsweared (changed) around 1800 as their first born, Pierre, baptised in Matane, Quebec, was of Catholic religion.

Arsene Rouselle is a descendant of Catherine de Baillon of kings of France.

Paul and Joseph were the only male descendants of the family with the Booz surname.

Paul is my great greatgrandfather.

Joseph and his wife Celina left Canada around 1879 and were living in Oconto, Oconto County, Wisconsin.  Joseph (the father) worked in a saw mill
