Fire Survivor Dies
In Marquette

Funeral services were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. A. Louise Leason. 87, a survivor of the Peshtigo Fire, who died Sept, 17 at 8:45 p.m. in the home of her son, John Leason, of 102-1 Carney Blvd., Marinette. The Rev. Gilford Ruby officiated at services conducted in the McLain-Thielen-Langer funeral home and burial was made in Woodlawn cemetery. She had been in ill health for the past three months and had resided with her son since being hospitalized.

The former Louise Grindall was born Dec. 19, 1870, in Marinette and was one of the first clerks to be hired by Laurmarn Brothers store. On Nov. 16, 1899 she married John F. Leason former juvenile probation officer and founder of the Leason Outdoor Poster Co. He died Feb. 15, 1946. She was a member of the Pioneer Presbyterian church. Survivors in additiun to her son are two grandchildren.

(note: Louise Grindall was a survivor of the Oct 8, 1871 Peshtigo Fire and was less than a year old at the time.)
