SPRUCE, Wis.— Two sons of Mrs. Victoria Pytleski of Spruce are across the continent from each other in the Navy. William J. a seaman 1/c (first class), is in training at Melville, R.I., while Peter J., a seaman 2/c, completed boot training at Farragut, Idaho, and has been transferred to Camp Parks, Calif. (Note:William "Bill" Pytleski served on PT boat RON 39 (MOTOR TORPEDO BOAT SQUADRON abbreviation). Bill served in the U.S. Navy in the Southwest Pacific, Philippines and Burma from November 1943 to June 1936, achieving the rank of seaman as a torpedo man. Their father, Henry Pytleski [January 1, 1894 - December 1, 1937], served in World War I: WI PFC. WWI CO C 6TH AMO TR and is buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Spruce, Oconto County, Wisconsin) |
