Sgt. Wondrash Back From War In Europe Special in Press-Gazette LENA,
Wis - Tech. Sgt. Oliver Wondrash returned from the European theater
Sept. 20 and is spending a month's furlough at the home of his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wondrash. He has been in the service two years, the
past seven months of which were spent in England. He has had 35
missions over Europe as an engineer on a B-24 Liberator and was awarded
the Air medal, three Oak Leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying
cross. He took part in the D-day invasion, going out on two missions
that day, and is one of a group of fliers returned to the states for
furlough. He will report at Maim Beach Oct. 15 for further duty.
