Falls, Wis - Frederick Mork, Oconto Falls received a message from the
War department informing her that her husband Cpl. Frederick Mork, 24,
died in Germany, July 14, as a result of injuries received in a vehicle
accident. Cpl. Mork, entered the service, Jan. 8, 1942, he trained at
Fort Riley, Kan., at Camp Maxey, Tex. before going overseas two years
ago.
Born Feb. 17, 1921, he was the son of Mrs. Christine Mork of Suring. He attended school at Hickory and was engaged in farming before entering thee service. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Mary Valley, when he married in Menominee, Mich., in 1943, and a three-year-old daughter, Nancy April: his mother, Mrs. Christine Mork, and two brothers, Harold and Kore Mork living near Suring; four sisters, Margaret Mork, Milwaukee; Ruth Mork, Green Bay; Helen Mork, Janesville and Irene Mork, Suring. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
December 28, 1948 18 Area War Dead Being Returned
The bodies of 18 Madison area
servicemen who lost their lives during World War II are being returned
to the United States from Europe aboard the U.S. army transport, Barney
Kirschbaum, the army announced today.
The bodies were interred in military cemeteries in France, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. The bodies said each of the next-of-kin will be notified in advance of the vessels's arrival and again after arrival of the bodies at the regional distribution centers of the graves registration service. Being returned to next of kin: Corp. Frederick Mork - Mrs Christine Mork, Suring, Wisconsin. |
