In the name of God amen I James Riveer of the parish of Christ Church County of Lancaster & State of Virginia being of perfect sense and disposing memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say, First and principally I resign my soul to God who gave it to me and my body to the earth to be decently buried therein at the discretion of my Executor herein after promises, trusting for remission of my sins or joyful resurrection through the merits of Jesus Christ the righteous my blessed Lord and Savior. As to my worldly goods which it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I dispense of the same in manner and form following.

Item. I give to my son James Riveer the plantation whereon he lives (known by the name of shop Lands) with the appurtenances thereunto belonging, with the following negroes namely, Noel, Erasmus, & Dennis also my large shop tools and a yoke of oxen a cart and wheels, the said James to pay all my just debts, if any to him and his heirs forever.

Item. I give to my son Joel Riveer the plantation whereon I now live with the appurtenances thereunto belonging with the following negroes namely Same, Mealey & Rachel also my small shop tools to him and his heirs forever.

Item. I give to my son Cyrus Riveer the following Negroes namely Betty, Solomon Preceilla & Molly to him and his heirs forever.

Item. I give to my daughter Polly the following negroes namely Letty Maria and Limon to her and her heirs forever.

Item. I give to my son Cyrus and daughter Polly my negro woman Comfort to them and their heir forever.

Items. I give to the children of my deceased son William Riveer one hundred and fifty dollars to be paid at the day they arrive to lawful age or marriage one hundred dollars to the male and fifty dollars to the female the same to be paid by my three sons James, Joel & Cyrus without interest fifty dollars each making the aforesaid amount to them and their heirs forever.
