Petition of the Town of Junction 

To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners of Piute County, Utah

Gentlemen:

We, the undersigned resident citizens, and qualified electors of Junction, Piute County, Utah, desiring to form a municipal corporation, as provided in Section 299, compiled Laws of Utah, 1907 to be known by the name and style of the Town of Junction, respectfully represent that a majority of the qualified electors residing within the proposed boundaries of said town as hereinafter designated, have signed this petition; as shown by the certified list of electors attached hereto; that there is a population in excess of 300 inhabitants in said district, to-wit, of 400 inhabitants.

For the purpose of fixing the boundary lines for the Town of Junction, it is hereby proposed that all that district of County embraced within the following boundaries to-wit:

Commencing at the South West corner of Section 31 in Township 29 S., Range three West of Salt Lake Meridian, and running thence North two miles; thence East to the Sevier River; thence Southerly following the course of said river to a point intersecting the Junction School District line running West Between the N.E. 1/4 of S.E. 1/4 and S.E. 1/4 of S.E. 1/4 of Sec. 17, in Tp. 30 S., of R. 3 W. S.L. M. Thence West along said line to East side of Sec. 18, Thence North 80 rds.; thence West 160 rds.; thence N. 160 rds., th West 160 rds., to the line running north and south between Ranges Three and Four West; thence north along said ine two and three-fourths miles, to place of beginning.

Shall be known and designated by the name of the Town of Junction, and the boundaries shall be as herein provided.

Wherefore your petitioners pray that the territory above described to be the Town of Junction and that your Honorable body appoint a President, and Four Trustees of said town as provided by Sec. 300 Compiled Laws of Utah 1907.

And in duty bound your petitioners will ever pray:

We hereby designate and appoint as the fist officers of the said Town of Junction the following named persons:

for Town President: Carl P. Barnson

For Trustees: Charles Morrill,

William H. Luke,

Lyman L. Johnson and

William Sudweeks,

the same to hold office until the next municipal election.
