Notes: Monroe Mark is [possibly] brother to John Wesley Mark, but not proved.  See Family Group Sheet for John Mark.  Monroe Mark received a 160 acre Preemption Grant from the State of Texas in 1873, thus being one of the first African American citizens of Trinity County to own land.
