Burlington Cemetery
Burlington, Milam County, Texas

Burlington Cemetery is located off of Highway 77 and on County Road 133, about 11 miles North of Cameron.
Burlington Cemetery is right next to Saint Michael's Cemetery and is open to the other cemetery with no divider, however, each cemetery has its
own entrance and gate.  The graves in Burlington Cemetery face East and the graves in Saint Michael's face South with some facing North and are mostly lined in gravel with a few exceptions near the South side of the cemetery that is in a grassy area.

This cemetery was photographed and transcribed in June 2008.

Burlington Cemetery is where the Protestants are buried and Catholic's are buried in St. Michael's Cemetery.

There are 193 graves and the oldest stone is Ruth Wheeler, daughter of W.E. & Bertie Wheeler, with a date of 4 May 1917.

*Tombstone states that Emilie Rothe was 121 years old at time of death, I double checked to make sure I photographed the stone right and I did.  I searched death records and found that she was born March 7, 1887 (not 1857) and died Jan 1978 at the age of 91.  According to the 1910 US Federal Census, she was born in 1887 in Germany and lived with her husband, Leon H. and his family (father, step-mother, 3 sisters and 2 brothers).  In the 1920 US Federal Census, it states that she immigrated to the U.S. in 1906.
