JACKSON, ROOSEVELT "BUSTER"
Funeral services for Mr. Roosevelt "Buster" Jackson, 91, of
Bay City, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2001 at Mother Zion
Baptist Church in Bay City with the Rev. K. J. Griggs as eulogist.
Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetry in Bay City.
Visitation will be Sunday until 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Duncan Roberts
Funeral Home.
He was born in Sealy, Texas on Monday, November 9, 1909, to Bud Jackson
and Susie Jackson, and passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in Bay
City, Texas.
He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. He was later
employed with the U. S. Postal Service and retired after 39 years.
Jackson was a friend to all mankind, and will be sorely missed by those
who shared his earthly living.
Survivors include: two sons, Donald Jackson and Marion of Richmond,
California, and Carl Jackson and Doris of Coralville, Iowa; two
daughters, Wilma Criswell of Bay City and Lillian Watson of Port Arthur;
nine grandchildren, Arthur Criswell of San Bruno, California, Denise
Robinson of League City, Texas, Duane Jackson and Kristin of Los
Angeles, California, Michelle Jackson of Maryland, Carl Jackson, Jr and
Jeannie of Houston, Texas, Edward Watson Jr. of Port Arthur, Texas,
Cherly Jackson of Chicago, Illinois, Lisa Green and Jarrod of Houston,
Texas and Donald Jackson, Jr of Richmond, California; eight
great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Robert Windle and a host of nieces,
nephews, relatives and friends.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Celmmie
Jackson on November 10, 2000, one sister and two brothers.
Active pallbearers will be J. W. Brown, Thomas Battle, William Dale,
Eugene Johnson, Ivan Pettis, Andrew Smith Sr., Wilbert Smith and
Lartress Tanner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thurman Austin, Wells Clark, Judge John
Paul Davis, George Fountain, James Gamble, Jarrod Green, Dr. W.H.
Hadnott, J.C. Jackson, Clifford Landry, Mayor Charles Martinez, Desi
Littleton, James Maxey, Mack Riser, Eric Robinson, George Tanner, Jr.,
Joe Washington, Sr., and Robert Windle.

JASEK, LEONARD
Leonard Jasek, 74, of Bay City died Thursday, June 7,
2001 in Bay City. He was born October 24, 1926 in Colorado County, Texas
to the late William and Marie Martis Jasek. He was a veteran of the U.
S. Navy serving in WWII and Korea, member of the St. Peter's Catholic
Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Life member of the V.F.W.
He is survived by: his wife, Helen Roesler Jasek of Bay City; daughters,
Deborah Jasek of College Station, Nancy FitzSimon of San Antonio,
Jennifer Jasek of Fruithurst, Ala., Mary Jasek of College Station,
Barbara Corporon of Collegeport and Lisa Batchelder of Palacios; sons,
Leonard W. Jasek and Andy Jasek both of Blessing; sisters, Alga Gully of
Fayetteville, Effie Piwetz of Houston, Marianne Prihoda of College
Station and Willy Mae Jasek of Bryan; one brother, Lawrence Jasek of
Houston; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in
death by his parents and a son John Jasek.
A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2001 at St. Peter's
Catholic Church with father Samuel Appasi officiating. Interment will
follow at Hawley Cemetery.

Earl Sam Johnson
Sept. 29, 1925 - Sept.1, 2005
Earl Sam Johnson, 79, of Bay City passed away September 1, 2005, at his
residence.
He was born September 29, 1925, in Bay City to Acie Smith Johnson and
Roxie Bell Neal Johnson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea; member of the First Baptist Church;
and a former operator for Amaco Production.
He is survived by: his brother, Hugh Mac Johnson and wife Addie of
Houston; his sister-in-law, Wynelle Johnson of Bay City; special friend,
Romona Davis of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Smith and Roxie Johnson; and by
his brothers and sisters, John Henry Johnson, Myrtle Jones, Edna
Johnson, Allie May Lane, Stella White, Ramon Frank Johnson and Alvin
Smith Johnson.
Funeral services were to be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005, at
Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Zimmerman officiating.
Interment was to follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
Pallbearers will be Carl, Robert, Phillip, Alvin, Kyle and Kevin
Johnson.
Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, Bay City.

Ernest Neal Joines, 53, of
Bay City, Texas, died in Bay City. He was born on September 26, 1926, in
Dykesburg, Texas. He was a city employee. Survivors include: mother,
Mrs. Nettie Joines of Bay City; four sisters, Mrs. Lorine Schmersalhl of
Sweeny, Texas, Mrs. Margaret Richardson of Matagorda, Texas, Mrs.

held at the Sixth Street Church of Christ, at 2:00 PM, on Friday and
interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Arrangements are with

James L. Jones
BAY CITY - James "Jimmy" L. Jones Jr., 55, of Bay
City, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003.
He was born April 5, 1948, in Grenada, Miss., to James L. Jones Sr. of
Bay City and Mary Alice Gillett Jones Ames of Cross Plains. He was a
veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and
attaining the rank of Staff Sgt. He was the operations manager of the
Minneapolis division of the Northern National Gas Company and member of
the Church of Christ in Bay City.
Survivors: wife, Kathy Jones; daughter, Shawnta Wilson of Williston,
N.D.; sons, John C. Jones of Boston and Shane Jones of Bay City;
stepfather, Richard Ames of Cross Plains; sister, Theresa Jones
Henderson of Bay City; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. today at Taylor Bros. Funeral
Home chapel.
Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev.
Donald Reed officiating.
Burial will be at a later date. Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, Bay City,
