Anthony David Zamora
December 23, 1973 - May 7, 2019

Anthony David Zamora was born to Rudy Zamora Sr. and Belia R. Zamora on December 23, 1973 in Lubbock, Texas. He was affectionately known as "Tone" to his friends and family.

Anthony is survived by his wife Renee of Bay City; two children, Kaine Zamora of Bay City and Dominique San Miguel of Houston; father and step-mother, Rudy Zamora Sr. and Irene Zamora of Bay City; two brothers, Rudy Zamora Jr. and Jo-Marten of Bay City; two sisters, Frances Zamora and Stephanie McClain, both of Lawton, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Eva Zamora
Infant Daughter Of Joe Zamora Dies Here Today

Eva Zamora, four month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zamora, died this morning at the family residence at 1411 Avenue L.

Besides her parents she is survived by two brothers, Joe Jr., and Rudolph Zamora.

Services will be Tuesday from the Methodist Mission with Rev. Benavides officiating with Taylor Bros. in charge.

Frances Sandy Zamora

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Sandy Zamora, 46, of Bay City are scheduled for 10 am Sunday at Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Mrs. Janie Robles officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck.

Mrs. Zamora was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Kingsburg, Texas, and died Oct. 5, 1984 at Matagorda General Hospital.

Survivors include: husband, Jose Zamora of Bay City; daughters, Mary Gloria Ledesma, Irene Morales and Eva Southall, all of Bay City, and Olga Selky of Eagle Pass; sons, Joe Zamora, Jr., Rudy Zamora and Martin Zamora, all of Bay City; sister Lupe Rodriquez of Bay City.

She was a lifelong resident of Bay City.

Pallbearers include Rudy Zamora, Joe Zamora, Martin Zamora, Juan Lopez, Ray Morales and Adrian Valle.

PALACIOS - Rocio Zamora, 48 passed away September 21, 2016. She was born April 13, 1968. Visitation Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 5 - 8:30pm with a rosary at 7pm at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios. Funeral mass Friday, September 23, 2016 at 9am at the church. Burial at Palacios Cemetery in Palacios.

Steven J. Zapalac, Sr.

Requiem mass for Steven John Zapalac, Sr., 59, of Midfield, father of Mrs. Nelo Seaman of Palacios, was said at 10 a. m. Saturday, March 3, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Blessing with the Rev. Jerome Stryke officiating. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

A member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, the K. J. T. and the R. V. O. S. Lodge No. 138 of El Maton, he had served as trustee on the Tidehaven School Board for 11 years. He died Thursday, March 1, in the Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nettie Zalapac of Midfield; five sons, Eugene of Houston, Steven Jr. of Huntsville, Richard A., David J. and Paul Wayne of Midfield; four daughters, Mrs. Seaman of Palacios, Mrs. Evelyn Skutca and Mrs. Nona Hurta of El Maton and Mrs. Annette Jessup of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother, three sisters and 10 grandchildren.

Francisco Sanchez Zarate

December 9, 1951 - February 25, 2017

Francisco Sanchez Zarate, 65, of Bay City, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017.

Francisco was born on December 9, 1951 in Juanajuato, Mexico to the late Asencion and Nicolasa Sanchez Zarate.

Francisco was a rancher, always working with cattle. He liked to watch baseball, especially the Astros and the Rangers.  Francisco loved his family, barbequing when able and being outside.

Francisco is survived by his wife of 31 years, Zulema Vargas Zarate of Bay City; son, Marcus Zarate of Bay City; daughters, Marisela Zarate and Leslie Garcia; grandchildren, Ava Garcia and La Chaz Garcia all of Bay City; sisters, Margarita Zarate, Adela Zarate, Eustasia Zarate, Hortencia Zarate, Salud Zarate; sisters, Enedina De La Cruz and husband Juan, Euguenia Gonzalez and husband Ismael; brothers, Pascual Zarate and wife Maria Elena, Sabas Zarate and wife Antonia, Max Zarate and wife Esmeralda; sister, Yanet Baez and husband Armando.

He is preceded in death by his parents,  Asencion Zarate and Nicolasa Sanchez Zarate.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 1, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m., at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.

Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City, with Monsignor Gerry Cernoch celebrant.

Rite of Committal will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck, Texas.

Virginia H. Zarate
August 25, 1939 - August 18, 2020

Virginia H. Zarate, 80, of Bay City, passed away August 18, 2020. She was born August 25, 1939 in Palacios, TX to Federico Hernandez and Genoveva Samora Hernandez.

She was known as “The Famous Berhinia,” name given to her by her Baby Huey, was passionate about her family, her faith and her love for Jesus. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for 80 years until she became ill. She loved Baking for her family and neighbors. She loved her weekend trips to Palacios to spend time with her Baby Sister Esmo playing Loteria. She also enjoyed all the time she could with her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Cindy Hernandez, Rachel Buckley and Julia Martinez, and grandchild JD Sedillo.

She is survived by daughter Cecilia Zarate; sons Ricky Zarate and wife Karen, and Roland Zarate; sister Esmeralda Hernandez; grandchildren Troy Garza, Kaelene Sedillo, Evanna Sedillo, Michael Finster, Amy Finster, and great-grandchild Kirra Schneider.

The Rosary will be 1:30 pm Friday, August 21, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 pm with Fr. Gabriel Espinosa officiating. Pallbearers are Alfred Buckley, Carlos Garcia, Rene Martinez and Roland Anthony Villarreal.

Patricia Ann Zavala Dies Wharton: Burial Cedarvale Cemetery

Patricia Ann Zavala, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Zavala of Boling, died in a Wharton hospital Friday at the age of 10 months and 15 days. Funeral services were held Saturday at 5:00 p. m. from the Latin American Catholic Church of Bay City. Rev. J. C. Wey of Rosenberg officiating. Burial was in Cedarvale Cemetery under the direction of Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.

Patricia Ann’s father is serving with the armed forces of the United States. Her mother, Mrs. Leona Zavala, lives in Boling.

Faustina Suniga Zboral, 88, of Bay City, passed away July 20, 2016. She was born February 15, 1928 in Vanderbilt, TX to the late Camarino Suniga and Hila Garcia.

Faustina was preceded in death by her parents and husband Guadalupe Zboral, Sr. She is survived by daughters Irene Robles and husband Jerry, Luz Ramirez, Connie Alameda, Belia Gonzales, Hope Galvan and Virginia Zboral; sons Lupe Zboral and wife Minerva, Frank Zboral and wife Rose and Santiago Leal; sister Tommie Suniga Pacheco; 34 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends 5:00-8:00pm, with a 6:00pm Rosary, Thursday July 21 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00am Friday. July 22, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Bay City, with Rev. George Kunnuth officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Guadalupe S. Zboral, Jr., 72, of Bay City passed away December 5, 2020. He was born October 6, 1948 to the late Guadalupe Zboral, Sr. and Faustina Suniga Zboral.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Minerva “Blacky” Zboral, grandson Xavier Calem Zboral-Huerta, grandmother Trinidad M. Torres and grandfather Pete S. Torres.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Minerva G. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Guadalupe Zboral. Xavier Zboral-Huerta

January 24, 2002 - November 29, 2018

Xavier Zboral-Huerta was born January 24, 2002 in Bay City, Texas. He passed away November 29, 2018.

Xavier was in the 10th grade at Van Vleck High School and participated in Football, Basketball, track, and when he was younger, T-ball.

He was Baptized, received his Holy Communion and received his confirmation at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Xavier was a hard worker with the biggest heart ever! He loved to listen to music and dance his heart out! We could always count on him to join us on the dance floor. He also loved his Houston Texans. Xavier had many friends and family who love him dearly!

Frank Zboril, Sr.

November 30, 1870 – February 4, 1960

 

Funeral services for Frank Zboril, Sr., 89, of Bay City, will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, with the Rev. C. G. Frisch officiating. Burial will be in Cedarvale Cemetery.

 

Zboril died at Iowa Colony, near Rosharon, Thursday at 4:00 PM. He is survived by: his wife, Mrs. Mary B. Zboril of Bay City; five daughters, Mrs. Alice Huran of Houston, Mrs. Marie Munson of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Georgia McClar of Bay City, Mrs. Emily Fabirgel of Damon, and Mrs. Mildred Grice of Bay City; one son, Frank Zboril, Jr. of Sweeny.

Funeral Services Are Held Wednesday For Miss Zboril

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning for Miss Louise Zboril, 25, who died at the home of her sister seven miles south of Bay City Sunday night.

Surviving are her mother and father and other relatives. The services were conducted by Walker-Matchett.

Edward J. Zemanek

Rosary for Edward J. Zemanek was recited at the Palacios Funeral Home Monday, May 20 at 7 in the evening. Requiem mass was said at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10 a. m. Tuesday with Father Michael Harrold officiating. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Blessing.

Mr. Zemanek, who died Sunday, May 19, in Wagner General Hospital, was born December 19, 1905, son of John and Francis Machacek Zemanek, in Fort Bend County. A farmer, he has been a resident of Palacios since 1947.

Survivors are his wife of Palacios, son, Eugene Zemanek of Bay City; five sisters, Valasta Chernosky of Austin; Ella Suhnma and Gusta Lee Leanert of Rosenberg, Alvina Gajewsky and Orga Seale of Houston; five brothers, Arnold of Newgulf, Bill of Houston, Louis, Alvin and Johnny of Needville and two grandsons, Robert and Rickey.

Mary Zemanek

Funeral services for Mary Zemanek, 79, of Bay City will be held 10 a. m. Wednesday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Sonnier officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Blessing.

Mrs. Zemanek was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Hallettsville, Texas, to August and Matilda Otto Svetlik and died Jan. 11, 1988, at Matagorda General Hospital, Bay City.

She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Raymond Svetlik of Palacios and Frank Svetlik of Markham and three grandchildren.

Victor Zemanek

Victor Zemanek, 80, of Blessing, Texas passed away July 2, 1995 at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City. He was born January 7, 1915 in Needville, Texas to Joseph and Christina Huff Zemanek. He had been a resident of Matagorda County since 1928, was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, a member of The American Legion Post in Blessing. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy for 12 years. He served on the Tidehaven School Board for 12 years, was a farmer from 1946 until his retirement in 1975 and was the first recipient of the Matagorda County Outstanding Cotton Farmer of the Year award in 1956. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Junek Zemanek of Blessing, by four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Tom DeKunder of Schertz, Texas, Doris and Donnie Genzer of Bay City, Lillian and Dennis Chastain of Cyprus, Texas, and Betty Jean and Darrell Crain of College Station, by four sons and daughters-in-law, Victor Joe and Ginger Zemanek of Hurst, Texas, John Henry and Tracy Zemanek of Madison, Mississippi, Robert and Joane Zemanek of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Jerry and Cindy Zemanek of Grapevine, Texas, by a son-in-law, Jim Snyder of Saudi Arabia, by three sisters, Liddie Pavelka of Dallas, Texas, Martha Johnston of Austin, and Sidney Bridewell of Dallas, by one brother, Joe Zemanek of Duncanville, Texas, eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Marie Snyder in 1975. A rosary will be recited at 8:00 p. m. Tuesday, July 4, 1995 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Blessing. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 1995 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Krenek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be his sons and sons-in-law, Victor Joe Zemanek, John Henry Zemanek, Robert Zemanek, Jerry Zemanek, Tom DeKunder, Donnie Genzer, Dennis Chastain, and Darrell Crain. Jim Snyder will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.

Patsy Lee Zenker
February 02, 1947 - November 17, 2019

Patsy Lee Justice Zenker, 72, was born February 2, 1947 in Turlock, CA to Duard and Louise Justice. November 17, 2019 surrounded by family, Patsy went to be with Jesus.

Patsy was the youngest of seven children, 4 brothers Delton Justice, Duard “JR Justice, Glen Allen Justice and Donald Justice, 2 sisters Mary Ann Starns and Evelyn “Sissy” Brooks. She married Patrick Zenker on November 19, 1963 in Cashion, CA where they lived until 1968. They then moved to Van Vleck, TX where they still reside.

She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren: Lavone Carter (Dennis), Rhonda Wray (Joey), Michael Zenker (Renee), Robert Zenker (Amy), Daryl Green (Jill). Ten grandchildren: Kimberly Morrison, Brian Carter (Claire), Annie Malone (John), Kevin Wray (Shana), Tiffany Wray, Patrick Zenker, Tyler Zenker, Jeremy Zenker,  Peyton Zenker & Colt Moreno. Twelve great grandchildren: Morgan, Kayden, Ryleigh, Logan, Seth, Xander, Jaxon, Tinlee, Dustyn, Mark, Johanna & Asher, and great-great grandson Bryson.

Patsy was a caring, supportive & loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She brought joy to anyone she met. In 1979, she was diagnosed with cancer and has fought it ever since and never let it hold her down. She has numerous nieces and nephews, and two special friends in life, Jolene Quillen and Susan Coston, whom she held very dear to her heart.

We have lost our wonderful mother, companion and advisor. We are honored to have been her family. So many people she touched will carry a piece of her in their hearts. We are grieving for our father who has lost his best friend and best wife it is possible to have ever had, and for the grandchildren, who have lost such an amazing, caring mentor. We have all suffered a huge loss.

She taught us all what is really important in life-to love, support and care for friends and family in our lives. We are all better off for having known her. It was a great privilege to be part of her family. We can’t be anymore thankful for her life than we are. Thank you, Jesus, for healing her completely.

Vern Alwin Zenker, 89, of Bay City, Texas passed away November 15, 2017 in Sweeny, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Turning Point Church in Bay City, Texas, with Pastor Jim Hardaway officiating.

Vern Zenker was born in Gould City, Michigan to Fred and Ruth Zenker on September 7, 1928. Vern worked in construction for most of his life. Even in retirement, he was always found on a bulldozer or a backhoe clearing out property.

Vern Zenker is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruth Zenker; his wife, Betty Zenker; his sister, Edna Rushford; and his son, Paul Jerome Zenker Sr.

Vern is survived by his brothers, Carl and Kathy Zenker, Patrick and Patsy Zenker; his daughter-in-law, Diana Major; and his two grandsons, Vern A. Zenker II and Paul Jerome Zenker Jr.; his six great-grandchildren; and his nine great-great-grandchildren.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America; the website is alzfdn.org. The month of November is Alzheimer's Awareness Month.

David Zepeda

David Zepeda, 59, of Bay City passed away August 19, 2018. He was born December 23, 1958 in Indio, California to Augustin Zepeda, Sr. and Maria R. Zepeda. 

He moved to Texas in the 1980’s and has been a permanent resident of Bay City thereafter. He was a hard, dedicated worker with over a 30 year career as the owner of Bay Plumbing Company serving Bay City and surrounding areas.

David loved and adored his beloved wife, children, grandchildren and family members dearly along with his furry companion “Tinker”. He had a heart for those in despair, and financially helped and housed several homeless individuals. David was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Those who truly knew him knew he had a heart of gold and will be forever loved and missed by many. He loved his ’63 Chevy Impala, fishing, hunting and water sports. He was a very adventurous man.

He was preceded in death by his father, and brothers Isidro “Freddie” Zepeda, Sergio Zepeda and Gustavo “Gus” Zepeda.

Survivors include his wife Jo Ann Zepeda; mother Maria R. Zepeda; son Adrian “Daniel” Zepeda, Sr. & wife Leticia; daughters Andrea and Veronica Zepeda; step children Kiri Wilson, Ricky Parker, Jr. (Valerie) and Pierre Parker (Yessica); sisters Belinda Cortez, Juanita O’Neall & husband Scott and Diana Zepeda; brother Augustin “Mano” Zepeda, Jr. and wife Lisa; grandchildren Adrian Zepeda, Jr., Adrianna Zepeda, Sierra Arsola, Samirah Zuniga, Airiq Zepeda, Bryce Zepeda, Carlos Avila, Jr., Hailey Oros, Taelor Oros, Kianna Roberson, Jaiven, Jaxen and Jaze Parker & Alycyn and Isaiah Parker and a host of family members and friends.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Friday, August 24 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. George Zernicek

September 23, 1947 - August 22, 2019

George Paul Zernicek, 71, of El Campo, passed away August 22, 2019. He was born on September 23, 1947 in Bay City to the late Emil and Irene Archer Zernicek. He was a cable splicer for Southwestern Bell and retired in 1998.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Adamik Zernicek of El Campo; sons, Jeff Zernicek and wife Geneva of Brenham and Dale Zernicek of Beaumont; daughter, Kim Henke and husband Robert of Hallettsville; grandson, Brandon Zernicek of El Campo; granddaughters, Macy and Melea Henke of Hallettsville; step-granddaughter, Caitlin Lindsey of Brenham; step-mother, Dolores Drozd of Bay City; sister, Janice Trochta and husband Michael of Bay City; brothers, Steven and Mark Zernicek of Bay City; sister-in-law, Linda Garcia and husband Chris of Louise; brother-in-law, David Adamik of Houston and numerous nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Emil Zernicek Jr. and sister, Priscilla Norman.

Visitation begins 3 p.m. Monday, August 26 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass begins 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 27 at St. John’s Catholic Church in New Taiton with the Rev. Gabriel Oduro Tawiah officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

ZERNICEK, Louis, age 83, passed away in Matagorda General Hospital on April 11. He is survived by one daughter, Adella Cerny, Bay City; one son, Willie Zernicek, El Maton; one sister, Andelina Zernicek of Fridek, Texas and three grandchildren. Mrs. Mary Zernicek Dies Here Sunday

Mrs. Mary Zernicek, 52, died July 4th. She resided at Route 1, City.

She is survived by her husband, Louis Zernicek, one daughter, Mrs. Della Cerny, one son, Willie and two sisters, Mrs. Louise Haydk, of Dayton and Mrs. Rosie Lukeashy of Humble. Also surviving are four brothers, Frank, Anton, Joe and Ed Skarka, all of Dayton.

Willie Zernicek

Services will be held for Willie Zernicek, 62, of Markham, 9:30 a. m Tuesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Blessing.

Zernicek died January 22, 1983 at Matagorda General Hospital.

Survivors include brother-in-law, Adolph Cerny of Bay City; nieces, Dorothy Venglar of Bay City, Gloria Treybig of Houston; nephew, Edwin Cerny of Bay City.

Zernicek was a veteran of WWII and a resident of Markham for 60 years.

El Campo—Oscar Wallace Ziegenhals, 69, of 312 Rosemary St. in El Campo, died Monday at his residence following a long illness.

Born Sept. 21, 1916, in Bay City to the late Oscar William and Frances Wallace Ziegenhals, he was a retired estate manager for South Texas Land Certificates and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Private family graveside services will be held under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. William Treude officiating.

The body will lie in state at Wheeler Funeral Home until 11 a. m. Tuesday.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Beth Ziegenhals of El Campo; a daughter, Mary Anne Ziegenhals of Austin; four sons, Bob Ziegenhals of Wharton, Bill Ziegenhals and Allen Ziegenhals, both of El Campo, and Lee Ziegenhals of San Antonio; a brother, Charles Ziegenhals of Bay City; and four grandchildren.

A son, Fred Ziegenhals, preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.

Genevieve “Jean” Zielonka, 69, of Palacios passed away August 10, 1996.

She was born August 8, 1927 in Jersey City, New Jersey to John and Janina Przyearowski Beblowski.

She is survived by three daughters, Vicki Bensfield of Bay City, Debbie Comiskey of Cuero, and Charleen Staff of El Campo; by two sons, Robert Zielonka of Needville and David Zielonka of Palacios; by one sister, Lottie Compton of Baltimore, Maryland; by one brother, Leo Beblowski of Greentown, Florida and by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Zielonka in 1984.

A rosary was recited at 7:30 p. m. Monday, August 12, 1996 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, August 13, 1996 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Blessing with Rev. Peter Higgins officiating. Burial followed at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Blessing.

Pallbearers were Paul Hahn, Jonathan Junek, Joe J. Junek, Jr., Richard Senf, Larry A. Purswell, and Milton Vavra. Her grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.

Adam Zorb

Adam Zorb died at the home G. W. Benedict Monday and was buried the following day in Cedarvale cemetery. Deceased has lived in the county for a number of years, making his home at different places, but for the past five years lived with Mr. Benedict. Friends cared for him during this last illness, he having no near relatives in this county.

Palacios—Hershel L. Zumalt, 80, of Palacios, died Thursday in a Houston hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home chapel in Bay City, with the Rev. R. H. Zumalt officiating.

Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.

Mr. Zumalt was born Nov. 12, 1908, in Seymour, Mo., to the late John Henry and Menta Lavora Peters Zumalt. A former resident of Pratt, Kan., he had lived in Palacios for nine years and was retired from the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Church of Nazarene.

He is survived by a son, Daniel Henry Zumalt of Pratt, Kan.; three sisters, Bertha Koehn of Noesho, Mo., Marie Wells of Bellflower, Calif., and Lela Brown of Olatag, Kan.; and three brothers, Elmer Zumalt and Ira Zumalt, both of Great Bend, Kan., and the Rev. R. H. Zumalt of Bay City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Zumalt in 1972.

Sylvia Zuniga
February 14, 1963 - November 12, 2019

Sylvia Ann Zuniga, 56, gained her wings and joined the Lord on November 12, 2019 after losing her battle with breast cancer.  She was born February 14, 1963 in New Gulf, Texas to Francisco & Andrea Trevino.

She was a beloved member of Discover Life Church in Markham, Texas and dedicated her life to being a servant of God.  She was a very giving person and it would always bring her immense joy to help those in need. Her strong will and determination within her faith brought her to meet her one true Father in Heaven. 

She was truly passionate about her grandchildren.  She cherished any and all time she was able to spend with them and her family including quick trips and long vacations.

Sylvia is survived by her parents; loving husband and best friend of 40 years, Edward Zuniga, Sr.; sons Edward Zuniga Jr. and wife Leslie, Eric Zuniga, and Cody Zuniga and wife Jennifer; seven grandchildren Destany, Samirah, Kieley, Madilyn, Alexa, Hailey, and Eric Jr. (EJ).

She was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Lynn Zuniga.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, November 14 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Services are 10:00am Friday, November 15, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Sonny Salas officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Juana Zustaita, 55, of Bay City passed away December 9, 2016. She was born August 9, 1961 in Mexico to J. Jesus Rubio and Natalia Gutierrez Rubio.

She was preceded in death by her husband Timoteo Zustaita. Survivors include daughters Carmen, Zustaita, Estella Zustaita, Cecelia Zustaita, Marta Zustaita, Magdelina Zustaita, Maria D. Zustaita and Maria E. Zustaita; sons Jose Zustaita and Dario Zustaita; sister Maria Gutierrez and by 18 grandchildren.
