They are making preparations to make miniature furniture from pins and corn stalks. The primary room has many pictures on the walls which consist of animals and flowers. The very thing in nature that children have an interest in.

“Salads are very easy to make, healthful and nourishing during these hot days,” said Miss Bonnie Cox, County Home Demonstration Agent, at the White Hall Girls 4-H Club meeting which was held at the school building Friday afternoon, Sept. 24th.

In making a vegetable salad, it is a very wise idea to soak the vegetables in cold water for an hour or so. This process makes the vegetables crisp and tender. Another point is to always wipe the vegetables dry. This helps keep the salads from becoming watery. Salads of all kinds taste better when made just before serving.

The club girls and Miss Cox were glad to have Norma Meyer join the…and all report a very enjoyable time.

The next meeting will be held on the third Friday of October.—Reporter.

A program was given by the school children celebrating Washington’s birthday. Then many boxes were sold and after the box supper, a social hour including bingo and games played by the young people, was enjoyed by all. A sum of $23.68 was realized. Each room will receive $5 of this to buy books for its own library, which will be continued every year.

The school has the P. T. A. to thank for many things. From a Hallowe’en party last October $32.00 was made. This has gone for track and playground equipment, an oil stove, dishes, silverware and a coffee pot for the ladies; Christmas tree decorations, and has paid dues so we may become members of the State and National Congress of Parents and Teachers.

Our membership is about seventy.

After buying the books for the library, we have a balance of $12.00 in the treasury.
