The prevailing and continued rains are making the farmers of this section quite blue. Such a winter season as this proves to all concerned that taken year in and year out, the farmer who stays where he is and plows his ground in the fall is the only one who can be sure of a season in the ground. The last cold spell probably killed some insects, but the soaked ground saved the gardens and also some undesirable vegetation.

The farmers of this section have been watching the Edna Herald to see who will be in the local committee of the Reconstruction Finance Company.

This time the weather did not keep us from having our fair. The people were well represented although the north wind was rather cold for the players.

Nice displays of various articles were enjoyed by all present. Among the “out-of-date” articles that were on display we had a collection of old coins, these representing the Danish, Spanish, English, Canadian, German and Italian coins. Newspapers represented the Spanish, Danish, English, Bohemian and German languages were also shown. Mrs. Schomburg of White Hall brought a spread that she crocheted twenty years ago. The Rich Square girls and the White Hall girls played a three inning indoor ball game in which our girls lost.

The donkey baseball game was the main attraction and then men showed their spirit by playing that game. We are sure it was enjoyed as much by the player as much as the spectators.
