A. A. General

Sir
I respectfully request leave of absence for twenty days to enable me to visit my home and arrange matters of business which are of much importance to me, my affairs at home have become much deranged in consequence of an attack of fever previous to my departure by which I was prevented from transacting my business from the time I ordered by company to prepare to march.
My pecuniary involvements are heavy--since leaving home my Overseer has acted badly and quit my service, and the various business matters I have to arrange. I am winding up an old business (mercantile) when I recd the news which called me from home the latter part of September, require that I should have the time asked for, otherwise this application would not be made.

I am very respectfully
Your obedient Servt.
Clark L. Owen
