Graveside services for L.C. Burchfield, 75, of Sherman will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
L.C. passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano.
He was born on February 6, 1936, in Bonham, Texas the son of Garland Roy Burchfield and Mary Lou Partridge Burchfield.  After graduation he joined and served in the Air Force during the Korean War.  He later graduated from the University of North Texas and then worked as a Production Manager for Johnson & Johnson for 30 years and finished his career working for Oscar Mayer until plant closure and then Kaiser Aluminum where he took his final retirement in 2001.  He married Dora Lee Henry on June 23, 1962, in Durant, Okla. and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2005.  Dad loved his Cowboys and Rangers and didn't miss watching a game.  He loved his family and was known for doing the right thing no matter what the situation.  He was loved by all who knew him.  A special thanks to Fred Stinnet and Bobby Morris for being his brothers, you guys are family.
L.C. is survived by his daughter, Laurie Killian and husband Rowdy of Gordonville; son, James Davis and wife Brook of Savoy; four grandchildren, Joshua Davis and wife Jennifer of Sherman; Jared Davis and fiancee Kelsey of Dorchester; Danielle Killian of Denison; and Christopher Marney of Sherman; two great-grandchildren, Skyler Pyle and Addison Davis; one brother, Eddie Burchfield of Sherman; and one sister, Erma Christine Williams and husband Orlin of Waelder.  He is also survived by very special nieces and nephews, Kristen Burchfield, Mindy Burchfield, Sonja Piper all of Florida; Dorinda Joyner, Angie Henry, Robert Nixon, all of Irving; Rhonda Clay of Waco; Gina Wog of Minnesota; and he had a lot of extended family he dearly loved.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Joshua Davis, Jared Davis, Drew Staggs, Fred Stinnet, Bobby Morris, and all of his VFW family.
