She was the daughter of the late W. T. Sears of Whitewright. Death followed a stroke of paralysis last Monday.
She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Columbus Bryant, Mrs. John Hoard, Tom Sears and Wade Sears, all of Whitewright; Mrs. Elvin Anderson, Whitesboro; Mrs. Hubert Holland, Fort Worth and John Sears of Merkel, Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall were united in marriage at Whitewright about 27 years ago. They lived in Whitesboro until 1903, when they moved to Sherman, where they made their home since. Mrs. Marshall was born and reared at Whitewright. She was a member of the graduating class at Kidd-Key College in 1892.
Since living in Sherman, she had taken an active part in the civic organizations of the city. She had been a member of the Methodist church since infancy, and had been a member of the Travis Street Methodist church here since 1903. For some time she had been a teacher of a class in the Sunday school, and was one of the faithful workers of the church in this department. She was always interested in all church activities, and gave much of her time to Christian service.
She made many friends in visiting the sick at the hospital and sanitarium and was also especially thoughtful of the needy in the city.
Her husband and relatives will have the sincere sympathy of all in their great loss.
Funeral services for Mrs. Marshall were held at the Travis Street Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The service was conducted by Dr. S. W. Williams, pastor of the church. Burial was at the Mausoleum in West Hill cemetery.

Second Suit Is Filed Following Gas Explosion
A second damage suit was filed this week in District Court as an aftermath of the butane gas explosion here Nov. 21, which resulted in the death of 13 badly burned persons, 12 of whom have since died.  The first suit was by Mrs. Emma Hammond and was in the sum of $25,000 in connection with the death of her husband.
The second suit was for the same amount and was filed by C.A. Bass of this city.
In both cases the defendants are Butane Gas people whose truck was in a collision with a sedan and the driver of the sedan, John W. Marshall, Sherman.   Both Mr. Marshall and wife died soon after the accident, and their estate is involved.  The collision released butane gas which was ignited in some inexplicable fashion, causing the large list of  casualties by the spread of the flames among the curious crowd that had gathered.
