Elmer Hills, 67, a retired blacksmith, died at a local hospital Wednesday night following a short illness.  He lived at 1213 S. Fannin Avenue.  Interment was at West Hill Thursday afternoon with Rev. Hugh Porter officiating.  Services were held at the Short-Murray chapel.
Born May 23, 1876 in Illinois, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hills.  His family moved to Sherman when he was 6 years of age, and he was reared and educated in that city.  Starting the trade of blacksmith as a young man in that city, he later came to Denison and entered the service of the Katy in the blacksmith department.  Later he entered business for himself here, retiring some years back.
In 1905 he married Miss Carrie Wright.  He was a member of the W.O.W.
Surviving are a niece, Mrs. E.C. Bentley, Jr., Rt. 3, Denison; a nephew, Stanley Ezell, Ft. Worth; and a brother-in-law A.H. Ezell, route 3, Denison.
