A.G. DOUGHERTY DIES AT HIS HOME IN SHERMAN AFTER SHORT ILLNESS
A.G. Dougherty, a well known Sherman citizen and former justiceof the Peace here, passed away at his home, 830 South Montgomery street, Sunday morning at 11:30 o'clock, following a short illness with pneumonia.  Mr. Dougherty was within a few days of his eighty-eighth anniversary at the time of his death, his birthday occurring on March 4.
Mr. Dougherty came to Sherman twenty-one years ago from Barron County, Kentucky, where he was born and reared and lived until his removal to Texas and Grayson County.  He came here at the same time his sons, Bob and Joe Dougherty, well known Sherman businessmen removed to this city from Kentucky.
The deceased is survived by his wife; his two sons, Bob and Joe Dougherty of Sherman; and a daughter, Mrs. Joe McBee of Wichita Falls, all of whom were at the bedside when the end came.

FUNERAL OF A.G. DOUGHERTY
The funeral of A.G. Dougherty, who died at his home on South Montgomery street Sunday, were held from the late home Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.  Services at the home were conducted by T.L. Holcomb, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and also at the grave in West Hill Cemetery.  Many friends of the deceased attended the services, and there were many beautiful floral offerings.  Mr. Dougherty was 88 years of age.
