G.F. Brannum Dies; Rites To Be Wednesday
George Franklin Brannum, 59, died Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. in a local hospital.  Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Barrett Funeral chapel.
Born december 16, 1894 at Commerce, he was the son of Thomas and Sarah Brannum.  He was married to Miss Roxie Cocker April 18, 1915.  Brannum had lived in Grayson County since 1898.
Survivors are his wife; 3 daughters, Miss Zelma D. Brannum, Mrs. Bonnie May, Mrs. Cletus Evans, all of Sherman; 3 brothers, Charley, Dee and Dewey, all of Sherman route 4; 3 sisters, Mrs. W.C. Dodson of Mesquite; Mrs. Lella Smith, and Mrs. Lara Burleson, both of Sherman; and 3 grandchildren.

George F. Brannum was buried in West Hill Cemetery Wednesday after funeral services in Barrett Funeral Home Chapel>
Survivors not previously listed include 2 sons, James Brannum and Truitt Brannum, both of Sherman.




Services for Roxy Coker Brannum of 1003 North Cleveland, 84-year-old housewife who died Sunday in a Sherman hospital, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Dannel and Horton Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. R.E. Williams of Belmont Baptist church will officiate, assisted by Rev. A.W. Blaine of Collinsville and burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Brannum was born in the Cedar community, daughter of James Thomas and Minerva Kelso Coker, and married George Franklin Brannum April 18, 1915 at Luella.  She attended Grayson county schools and was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church.
Surviving are her son, James Brannum of Sherman; daughters, Zelma D. Brannum, Ruth May and Georgia Short, all of Sherman; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be George Brannum, Tommy Brannum, Roy Brannum, Alen Dale Douglas, Charles Douglas, and Marvin Douglas.

Sherman - Funeral services for Aline L. Brannum were held Monday morning, February 24, 2020 at Waldo Funeral Home.  Rev. Roy Layman officiated.  Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery with Red Bateman, Travis Brannum, Kyle McGill, Chris McGill, Tanner Ersch, and Robbie Thompson serving as pallbearers.  Mrs. Brannum, 86, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Baylor, Scott & White Medical Center in Plano.

Aline was born January 24, 1934 in Cursey, Oklahoma, daughter of Orval and Pearl Duncan Powers.  She worked many years at Whopper Stopper in Sherman and enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Brannum is survived by her brother, O.B. Powers and wife, Jan, of Howe, Texas; sister, Linda Kelly and husband, Danny, of Sherman; 5 nieces, Tracy Powers of Howe; Tammie Thompson of Pottsboro; Tiffany McGill of Howe; Kimberly Ball of Prosper; and Kerry Kelly of Sherman; 2 great-nieces, Shelby Ball and Emery Thompson; and 7 great-nephews, Tanner Ersch; Keaton Ball; Tyler Ball; Chris McGill; Jacob McGill; Cody McGill; and Reid Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
