Monday, September 4, 1922 pg. 3 Funeral Services Held For Mrs. M.J. Carutheres The funeral of Mrs. M.J. Caruthers, whose death occurred at the home of her son, Bob Caruthers on Thursday at noon, was held from Central Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Services were largely attended and many beautiful floral offerings bespoke the wide friendship which Mrs. Caruthers enjoyed. Dr. Cephas Shelburne, assisted by Rev. C.A. Spragins, pastor of Travis Street Methodist Church, conducted the religious services. Mrs. Caruthers had long been a member of Central Christian Church. Interment was in West Hill cemetery following the services at the church. The pallbearers were Earl Odneal, S.B. Elliott, Charles Odneal, Harry Wood, Bob Piner, Charles Elliott, Scott Fulton of Van Alstyne and A.B. Mayhew, active; Jesse F. Holt, Walter C. Jones, Morris Masters, Judge Silas Hare, Dr. T.W. Crowder, W.L. Hay, Judge H.O. Head, J.D. Masters, and Dr. George F. Brown.
