Sherman Daily Democrat Thursday, June 22, 1922 pg 3 Vernon Greathouse Dies From Injuries Sustained in October After suffering eight months from injuries sustained last October, Vernon Greathouse, 15 years old, died at the home of his father M.E. Greathouse, 718 South Elm Street late Wednesday afternoon. Vernon was injured last October. While celebrating Hallowe'en on an outing with friends, he fell from a wagon striking his head and inflicting injuries from which death finally resulted Wednesday. Funeral services took place Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the First Baptist Church. Services were conducted by Dr. T.L. Holcomb, the pastor, and burial was in West Hill Cemetery.
