Miss Taylor's Death
Every one was happy yesterday.
Perhaps to the writer of the above saying this may have seemed true, but alas, could he have seen into the many sorrowing homes those words would have been mockery.  A mother watching beside the bed of a dearly loved daughter and the one left to comfort and cheer her lonely path, made so dark and dreary in the past two weeks by the death of her dear husband and companion.
Sitting by the beautiful young lady and watching the life last ebbing out.  Can this be called happiness to her who breathed her last at 8 a.m.?  I doubt that we may call it happiness for she is now at rest, from suffering and care, in the eternal world to which she was well prepared and ....about longing to both ...but only the grief stricken and doubly bereaved mother, stone must not mock his grief by the sword.  She was his all and most dearly loved by mother and numerous friends, and is not this privilege all have.  God in his goodness and many blessings be with the mother and comfort her in her distress.
Miss Nannie will be laid beside her father, in our beautiful cemetery tomorrow afternoon at two o'clock. - - - Mrs. A.L.D.

Miss Taylor's Funeral
The funeral services of Miss Nannie Taylor, who was laid away in the silent city of the dead yesterday afternoon, were the most impressive that have taken place in this city in a long time.  According to request, the students of the public schools met at the brick school house at 2 p.m. and marched down to the residence of the sorrowing mother on South Travis street.  From this point they accompanied the sad procession to the city cemetery, where all that was mortal of this most estimable young lady was laid away from mortal view.  The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.S. Moore of the O.S. Presbyterian church.
