Mrs. Betty Lue Acres Buried At West Hill
Funeral services were to be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Betty Lue Acres, 88, a resident of Sherman for 45 years.  She died Sunday at a Sherman hospital.  Her home was at 105 W. Lake.
The Rev. J.F. Selcraig, pastor of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church, conducted the service.  Pallbearers were M.B. Hutchinson, D.A. Newman, Jeff Mercer, David Creecy, J.O. Wilson and Harry Lewis.  Burial was in West Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Acres was born Nov. 15, 1864, in Opalike, Ala., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James D. Segrest.  On Jan. 8, 1884, she was married to J.D. Acres in Alabama.  He died in 1938.  They moved to Galveston in 1894 and came to Sherman in 1908.  she was a member of the Baptist Church.
Her sole survivor is a son, Frank Acres of Sherman.

Frank James Acree
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Waldo Funeral Chapel for Frank James Acree, 76, of 312 W. Moore street, who died at 11 a.m. Saturday at a local hospital.  He had been ill several months.
Dr. Darold Morgan, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sherman, will conduct the services.  Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be B.V. Kelley, W.E. Treder, Jim Stephenson, Joe Chumbley, Cecil Ross and B.C. May.
Acree was born June 4, 1885 in Alabama, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Acree.
He came to Sherman in 1908 from Galveston.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and of Travis Lodge No. 117, A.F. and AM.
Before his illness he was employed at Sherman Community Hospital.
There were no known survivors.

Jefferson Davis Acree
Jefferson Davis Acree, 75, died at 9 a.m. Thursday at his home, 105 West Forest.
Funeral services are to be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the Forest Avenue Baptist church with the Rev. T.L. White, pastor officiating,  Interment will be in West Hill cemetery with Talley Funeral Home directing.  The body will remain at the residence until time for services.
Mr. Acree was born June 21, 1862, in Alabama.  He came to Texas from his native state 41 years ago, settling first in Dallas, where he remained a few years before moving to Bonham.  He moved to Sherman from Bonham 33 years ago.  Mr. Acree had been employed by the Sherman Manufacturing company 22 years until six years ago.  He was a member of the Forest Avenue church and the Masonic lodge.  Masons will be pallbearers and will have charge of the service at the cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bettie Acree and one son, Frank Acree of Sherman.
