Sherman - Funeral services for Doris Evelyn Barnes Paris were held Tuesday morning, May 27, 2014 at Waldo Funeral Home.  Mitch Wiggains officiated with Dennis Barnes, Jerry Barnes, Larry Barnes, Frisco Reid, Benjamin Reid, and Jason Roberts serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers were Donald Barnes, Harry Staff, and Jesse Scally.  Mrs. Paris, 91, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Homestead of Sherman.
Doris was born October 29, 1922 in Tioga, Texas, daughter of Charles and Clara Mae Kemp Barnes.  She was the only girl of 4 children.  She and her family moved to Sherman while she was still a young girl.  Doris worked at Pool Manufacturing, Kress and Proffitt Food Store in Sherman.  Later she worked many years as a cashier at Kroger in Sherman.  She always enjoyed helping people out by taking groceries by or taking people to their appointments.  She loved being with family and friends, playing bingo, but most of all, she loved to dance.  Doris and her husband were life members of the VFW Post 2772 and Doris was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #2772.  She married Troy L. Paris and did lots of traveling with the Air Force.  They raised a daughter, Linda, and one son, Dale.  They were stationed in Japan, France, and several bases stateside.
Mrs. Paris is survived by her daughter, Linda Tingle and husband, David, of Sherman; 3 grandchildren, Tamara Reid and husband, Kenneth, of Sherman; Shenna Roberts and husband, Jason, of Pottsboro; and Suzan Scally and husband, Jesse, of Pottsboro; 7 great-grandchildren, Frisco, Brianna and Benjamin Reid; Ryan and Annabelle Roberts; Ethan Bates; and Ozzy Scally; a brother, Leon Barnes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law, Pauline Barnes of Sherman.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 brothers, Weldon and Charles Barnes; son, Dale S. Paris; and granddaughter, Deanna M. Tingle.

Dale Sherman Paris, 57 year-old former Johnson and Johnson employee, passed away at his residence in Sherman on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009. 
Graveside services were 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4 in the veterans section at West Hill Cemetery. Pastor Roland Ouellette of East Sherman Bapist Church officiated and arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. 
Dale was born April 2, 1952 in Sherman, the son of Troy L. Paris and Doris Barnes Paris. He attended Sherman schools, graduated from Sherman High School in 1970 and attended Grayson County College where he took courses in drafting and mechanical drawing. He enlisted in the U.S. Army but was honorably discharged after a short period of time due to a physical problem. He was employed by the Hardwick-Etter plant until its closure, and then worked at the Johnson and Johnson plant as a fork lift driver and material handler for twenty-nine years until it closed for business. While employed at J & J he also was on the fire brigade safety team. He enjoyed shooting pool, golfing and fishing. 
He is survived by his two daughters, Suzan Bates and her husband, Jesse Scally, of Pottsboro, and Sheena Roberts and husband, Jason, of Denison; mother, Doris Paris of Sherman; sister, Linda Tingle and husband, David, of Sherman; grandchildren, Ethan Bates, Ozzie Scally, Alex Roberts and Ryan Roberts; niece, Tamara Reid and husband, Kenneth, and children of Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Paris; grandmother, Clara Mae Barnes; and niece, Deanna Tingle.
