JOE KEELING'S INJURIES FATAL: FUNERAL MONDAY; HAD THREE SISTERS HERE
The accident that befell Joe Keeling, brother of Mrs. Herbert Parish, Mrs. Kate Bryant, and Mrs. Willard Howard of Celina, when a tall pole on which he was working fell at Paris Wednesday of last week, resulted fatally.
The funeral of the victim received the following notice in the Sherman Democrat Monday:
"Funeral services for Joe B. Keeling, 36, who died Saturday at 8:55 p.m. in Paris, were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dannel-Scott chapel with Dr. J.A. Ellis, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial was in West Hill Cemetery.
"Mr. Keeling was one of two men injured last Wednesday when a tall pole on which they were working fell to the ground.  They were on a job at the new Paris camp.
"Mr. Keeling was born October 18, 1905 in Van Alstyne, son of Thomas A. and Etta Chambers Keeling.  He was married June 7, 1930, to Miss Willie B. Geisert.  He came to Sherman from Van Alstyne nine years ago to work as lineman for the Texas Power and Light Company and moved to Paris two months ago to work for the Reynolds Contracting Company, doing line work at Camp Maxey.
"He is survived by his wife, Mrs. WIllie B. Keeling, 422 South Travis; a son, Kenneth Joe Keeling of Sherman; his father, Thomas A. Keeling of Matador; three brothers, Noah Keeling of Matador, Jake Keeling of Salisaw, Oklahoma, and Thomas Keeling, who is in Australia in the U.S. Army; six sisters, Mrs. Cecil Miller and Mrs. LeRoy Smith of Van Alstyne; Mrs. T.B. Johnson of Aylesworth, Oklahoma; Mrs. Herbert Parish, Mrs. Kate Bryant, and Mrs. Willard Howard of Celina.
Pallbearers were Fred Albright, Paul Johnson, Grady Lawrence, W.W. Fox of Paris, Robert McAfee and Freeman Philpott."
