A. J. Green, Dead

A. J. Green, familiarly known over the city as "Uncle Jack," died at his home, on North Montgomery street, this morning at 11:40 o'clock, surrounded by friends, relatives, and brethren in the Sherman Lodge, I. O. O. F.
The deceased leaves no family except a wife, who is prostrate with grief over
the death of her husband.
He was taken down with dengue about two weeks since, and that disease developed into flux, and from that into an inflamation from which he died at the hour mentioned above.  For a day of two before his death he had been afflicted with acute mania, superinduced by suffering and
pain which the flight of years had rendered him unable to stand.
His funeral  will take place from the First Christian Church, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, under the guidance of the Odd Fellows of this and contingent lodges.  The last sad rites of the Christian church of which he was a consistant member,
will be spoken over his remains at the church by Rev. W. C. Dimmit, pastor in charge.
A good citizen and true friend and an honorable and upright man has died and may the flowers ever bloom sweetly over one who has died and left no enemies.
