James R. "Jimmy" Curtis

Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Robert Curtis, 62, of Sherman, Texas weree held Friday morning, October 3, 2008 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial followed at West Hill Cemetery. Rev. Mike Murphy officiated and services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Jimmy passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at his residence in Sherman. 

He was born on Sunday, April 28, 1946, in Many, Louisiana, son of Clio and Edna Dean Curtis. Jimmy graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He was employed as a Senior Loan Officer with Granite Mortgage Company in Sherman. Previously he was a self employed Clothing Salesman traveling in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisana. He was an active member of Covenant Church and the Church Prison Ministry. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the Rangers and Cowboys play. He met and married his wife Karen in 1975 and they were married for 33 years. 
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Karen M. Curtis. of Sherman, Texas; daughter, Karla Dunning and husband, Chris, of Denton, Texas; son, Jake Curtis and wife, Becky, of Lewisville, Texas; son, Eric Curtis of Lewisville, Texas; sister, Chloe Buvens and husband, Bob, of Longview, Texas; and brother, Percy Curtis and wife, Virginia, of Minden, Louisiana. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents. 
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the local American Red Cross.
